Deleting a user and reclaiming license

  • Follow

I have a problem with a deleted user account. CRM will not release or free
up it's licenses after the account was deleted.

How can I reclaim this licenses?

Thanks in advance for the replies

You are not meant to delete Active Directory users that are CRM users - see
the MSFT reply only just yesterday with the hotfix.

If the user was only "disabled", you would be able to reassign the license.
If the user comes back, you just reassign them another license. Thats how
its intended you manage users.

You can mnually free up the license by deleting the appropriate row from the
SystemUserlicenses table inthe *_MSCRM database. You should check
SystemUserBase to first get the appropriate SystemUderId and make sure you have
a good backup before hand.
