CRM Problems after Installation Net Runtime Error

  • Follow

Hello Community,

i have installed Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and discovered the two following
errors in the Event Logs. The Server itself works fine. Don't know where
these errors come from. Maybe someone can help me out.

Environment:

Virtual Machine with 1,5 GB RAM
Windows Server 2003
SQL Server 2005 SP2 with Reporting Services
CRM 3.0 Professional
Add-On emailtocase

Error in Application Log:
Source: .Net Runtime 2.0 Error

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.1830, stamp 42435be1,
faulting module webengine.dll, version 2.0.50727.42, stamp 4333eca4, debug?
0, fault address 0x00002fec.

Error in System Log:
Source: W3SVC

A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' terminated unexpectedly.
The process id was '1484'. The process exit code was '0xc0000005'.

The problem is that CRM 3.0 can only run under .net 1.1 You can't run
under .net 2.0. What you need to do is to go to IIS, then right click
on the Microsoft CRM 3.0 website, make sure the .net version is .net
1.1. Also make sure the virtual instance is also running .net 1.1.
After that, reset your IIS to see if your CRM is backup.

Hello Darren,

the CRM Website is already set to ASP 1.1. What do you mean by Virtual
Instance?

Everything under the CRM-Website is set to ASP 1.1.

Maybe this helps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911816/en-us. It don't
expect that you can fix the error, but at least it gives a good explanation
why you see the entries in the event log.
