Hi, I have a couple of users who's CRM Outlook Addin keeps getting switched
off.
The tool bar remains etc but no longer works. When I look in outlook options
the CRM Addin is not ticket. I can re tick this and click OK but it will
imediatly uncheck itself. To get it to work I have to remove the addin and
then add it again. This temporarily fixes the problem but it is never long
before it occurs again.
Any advice ?
Regards
Brian

Hi Kas
Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options, COM Add-Ins...
The actual Addin to point to is located in...
C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Client\bin\crmaddin.dll
Cheers

Thank you, maybe this fixes our problem, our employee in IT said to me that
this unchecking could have something to do with an unproper way of closing
CRM. Maybe a connection problem or something, that makes you work local
instead of on the server.
When you restart CRM, you get the message that some functions where put
offline by the system, and you have to manually recheck them... one tends to
click ok fast and not read this message properly :)
Not really a fix but worth to mention

I have the same problem you describe. One on a terminal server running the
light 3.0 client which looses the check on the crmaddin.dll when ever the
Outlook program is shut down and restarted.
A laptop client lost the entry for the add-in but seems to be staying
enabled after re-adding the addin in cycling Outlook off and back on again.
Did you ever find the answer to keeping the checkmark enabled in the light
client?

Ho on earth did you get the outlook adin to work over terminal services??
Ive been trying all day and i keep getting an error saying "an error occurred
loading some of the functionality" ive tried searching the web and im not
sure if i've set it up right.
I have windows 2003 server with crm installed for evaluation to see if we
want to buy it. I installed terminal services on that server and can log inas
one of the sample users via terminal services and access the web client a.ok.
but i cant throught the outlook client.
To set up the outlook client i used the terminsall.cmd file and read me
1. installed the regualr desktop client on the terminal server
2. made the changes that needed to be made in the script
3. ran it manually from the command prompt while logged in as a user with
admin rights.
it puts an empty crm folder into oulokk but no toolbar etc.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated im at a wits end.

I just followed the instructions in the TS CRM whitepaperto the letter. My
setup is slightly different, I have CRM SBE on SBS2003 and TS is running on s
different server on W2003. As I recall, it all worked as the document said.

Found the answer. Just remove the addin and then add it back in again. It
works normally after that.
