Access 2010 Runtime Silent Install
Well, it looks like we're only 2+ weeks away from Access 2010 (and Runtime)
being made public / available. To date, I've not stumbled on anything that
gives me an option to silently install Runtime. It's packaging is very
different from before as it uses an XML-based installation scheme.
It seems that the problem lies in that the self-extractor (phase 1)
immediately passes control to the installer (phase 2) without giving me any
opportunity to add to (or modify) the XML (just extracted) that controls the
installation. There seems to be a command line parm that "could be" pass

Question
Hi All,
I have created a database that stores information about gauges/items
within our company and tracks it's location, whether the item has
changed location, is in a repair state, being calibrated, on loan to a
different department, etc. When a user updates a serial number
(currently we have generic serial numbers and are putting the correct
serial numbers in it's place) the serial number changes and the data
is saved to the database.
My database has many relationships to keep the data integrety(sp) in
check. The problem I am having is that once the user has changed the

Type Conversion Failure!!!!
I am trying to import a .csv text file into access using an import
specification and everytime I try to import the data I get a type
conversion failure because there is no percentage data type that will
recognize the values that are in the .csv file.
Does anyone know how I can accomplish this import? I am really
wanting to automate this import process somehow using VBA and need to
first get this data in the table.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance,

automatic Conversion from A97 to A2K
Hi,
i've setup a table and a module to convert several mdb's from A97 to
A2K with the program-line below
as the central line:
DBEngine.CompactDatabase var_Path_FROM & var_MDB_FROM, var_Path_TO &
var_MDB_TO, dbLangGeneral, dbVersion40, dbLangGeneral
Now what is surprising is, that for some mdb's it works, for some
not.
For some i'm still getting the Convert Database-Window while opening
it with A2K.
At the moment i just tried mdb's with some tables in it.
Does anybody have any idea, what could be the problem
or is there a better way to do it than with the line shown above.

JetComp fails - now what?
I think this DB might be gone forever, but I figured I'd ask here just in
case.
My DB used to work fine - developed in Acc2002.
I e-mailed it to myself (zipped), and it was fine the last time I tried to
use it. Since then, I reformatted my HDD and installed Access2003. (Not
that it should matter!)
Now when I download and unzip the files that used to work *perfectly*, Access
bombs. I ran JetComp4 on it, and it failed. If I try to create a new DB and
import, I get most of the database - just not the complex form. (a modified
version of the MultiPik form from Developer's Handbook

Import of DBF shows wrong chars
Dear all,
we need your help. We have the following situation:
We are using MS Access 97 on a Win2k machine. What we plan to do is
import our warehouse data (which comes out of an old DOS system named
GandkeSchubert 2.6). This saves all data as DBFs.
When importing the DBF to Access (either with DBASE III, IV or V
setting) we have a problem with a special field. To take one example
that we realised: Access interprets one value as "=C3=88=C3=A4=C3=87=C3=87+=
-" whereas the
original entry in the DBF is "=C3=88=C3=A4=C3=87=C3=87=E2=94=90-". I assume=

app can be opened in access 2007, but when I start my macros for export, it

Hey guys! I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'm having a unique

them in order for them to work again. I've searched, and searche

Distributing MDE Front-End / Access 2007
Hello,
I've been a user of these forums for a long time, and it is by far the #1
Access resource on the web. I would like to ask a question about dealing with
some conversion and distribution issues.
Basically, I designed a complete database in Access 2007 (.accdb), and then
converted it (using Save As) to an Access 2003 version (.mdb).
Next I opened up this .mdb file, and used the options available in the Ribbon
to split the database into a Front-end and Back-end.
I then converted the Front-end database (.mdb) into a .mde file for
distribution across our company's WAN. Users

Using Access 2003 on client to see Sharepoint 2007
Testing a Sharepoint environment and I can easily manipulate and run the

So the question is using Sharepoint 2007 and posting the Access 2007 format
