Access External Tables Using SmartList Builder
Can I access external SQL tables in SmartList Builder? We want to query
tables in the Tensoft Fabless Semiconductor Manufacturing (FSM) software
module that is bolted to GP. Thank you.
You certainly can! If your tables reside in another database, you will need
to create views from within your GP company database as follow:
create view vwTensoftTable as
select field1, field2,...,fieldN from YourTensoftDatabase.dbo.tensofttable
You will need to then grant permissions to DYNGRP on those views. From there
on, you can pull into SLB.

i have an issue trying to calculate data based on a query
i import the data with all my columns and records, at the end i insert a
column with a formula that calculates 4 different cells in the row
then i run a query to remove null (zero) value data from a certain field,
then the formual column that i added manually doesn't look right.
for example, if i have 800 rows of data, i copied that formula to all 800
rows in the last column following the external data
when i run the query, all the zero values are removed (doing what it should)
and the formulas stay, except the last row that is...reading data from a port

I'm having a problem with version 9 SmartList Security.
I create a SmartList and then open SmartList and let it add the new object.

I was training a group of customers today on SmartList builder and they were
creating trying to create a SmartList report. Everything goes well until at
least 4 or 5 of them were having errors saving the SmartList in the
SmartList Builder window. The error was something about a duplicate key
being created on the SLB11000 and the SLB 11100 tables (I cannot recall
which users have errors on which tables) but after attempting to save the
SmartList ID and building the SmartList ID on the actual SmartList view, I

In an email message the return address field is always plain text.
There is something you can do, however. Use Entourage's Tools>Signatures
menu to create a signature. You can drag a picture into the signature
window. You'll probably have to use HTML message formatting for the
picture to be seen by recipients.

Not sure I completely understand your problem, but it sounds to me like your
formulas are absolute. In other words, when you are typing in the formula it
looks something like =[Book1]Sheet1!$...Creating a bigger list in Data Validation
Is Data Validation limited in terms of the items you can create for the drop
down list. I am creating a shopping list and would like to enter in all my
grocerie items, but there are too many. Any work around solutions?
By default the length is limited to 8 items.

Class access to the new objects????
Access to smartlists is controled through the Alternate/Modified forms and
Reports (Tools->Setup->System->Alternate......) Select the profile (forms
and reports group) to be modified and then select Smartlists. View the list
of Smartlists and mark which ones this profile should have access to.

I am trying to access a SQL database (MS CRM 4.0) using the Connections
feature in Excel 2007. I am able to connect to various tables and views,
however, some key columns of data do not appear. I am wondering if they are
hidden or I have a security issue. If I try to access the data using SQL
Server BI 2005, all data is available. However using Excel 2007, the columns

I've encountered a similar problem in the past when SQL columns were 'raw'

unless data is entered in another cell or cells first?
You can do this with Data Validation. Select the cell whose entry you
want to restrict. Open Data Validation dialog from the Data menu,
choose "Custom" on the Allow list, and enter
where $D$1 is the cell which must have data in it in order to enter
data in to the validated cell.

When I installed Money 2004, my previous 2001 was
uninstalled, but its data converted into the new program.
However, all but one entry in one credit-card account
disappeared and no new entry appears when I try making a
payment from another account.
The one entry remaining is actually from a closed
predecessor card account.

I am new to Excel. I have a project I am working on in which I have a
column with a value from 1 to 5. Each number (and in some columns letters)
represents a different answer. Is there a way to add the total number of
each value? For instance I have over 2000 rows with data. In column "N", an
answer can be either 1,2,3,4 or 5. How would I figure out how many answers
are "1", how many are "2" an so on. Likewise there is a column with a yes/no
answer. How can I see the total number of Yes's and how many No's there are?

New User - Went into Smartlist under Customer Balance and added the aging to
it but when it refreshed everything was 0-30 days. I know if I run an AR
aging report it will not reflect everything in 0-30 days. Where does the
Smartlist pull its data from.
Go to Tools->Routines->Sales->Ageing and run this process. It ages the
accounts just like the report but it writes the data back to the tables.
This provides the data for the SmartList as well as updating the agening
displays and information printed on statements.

If you are talking about creating you own smartlist reports, you can use
Smartlist Builder. This will allow you to create your own smartlist, as well
as use SQL Views to pull into Smartlists.
If this is not what you are looking for, can you please explain a little
more about which reports you want to modify in Smartlist.
