How to limit store.exe and sqlservr.exe's RAM hunger
I know that store.exe should release memory when other applications ask for it, but in my server, store.exe and sqlservr.exe both fight for the most, and leave little for other applications. I have 3 GB RAM and currently 3,6 GB PF usage. This means I hear the harddisk being busy the whole time when accessing applications. What can be done to change the amount of RAM used for store.exe and sqlservr.exe ? Hi Guys, Sorry about the offtopic message. I have an old exe (16 bit). Don't have the source. I want to step throught the exe. I tried loading it in VS 2003 and even 4.1 but couldn't get it to do it. I remember doing that with exe's back in DOS days. Opening the exe in TASM and stepping through the exe. Does anyone know of a program that will let me do this? Classes generated by XSD.exe #2
I have a schema that I've used to generate a class structure vis the xsd.exe utility. I'm having to manually validate the resultant XML since the resultant document is not necessarily compliant with the structure defined by the original XSD. Here's what I'm wondering, though..... I have a server process that is going to have to process these documents rather quickly. At the end of the document, there are going to be attached files (base64encoded). During this processing, there isn't any sense in loading up the entire XML statement into a DOM document because I only...

has any one ever used the Sc.exe tool to grant sufficient permissions to authenticated user (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905809)? If so were there any bad experiences? Internet Explorer 8: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe vs C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
I recently moved to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit. I have noticed that there are two copies of Internet Explorer 8 on the machine, located at the following locations: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe (I am assuming this is a 32-bit version) C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe (I am assuming this is the 64-bit version) First of all, why did Windows 7 install both versions? And second, is there any difference between them? I have tried running both of them, and I have not noticed any difference, and I am assuming that there is not supposed to be ...

OUTLOOK.EXE?
Cryptic subject header I suppose, but what I'm asking is under what conditions does the program OUTLOOK.EXE get loaded please? What prompted this was that I was trying (eventually unsuccessfully) to install Microsoft PhotoDraw (part of Office 2000 Premium) on my XP PC. At one stage I had a surprising message saying it couldn't continue because Outlook was running. I certainly didn't have Outlook 2000 open in a window on my PC. It was just one of my Quick Launch icons. Was this message perhaps because my Pocket PC was cradled? If not, why *was* it running? Anyway, I used Crl-Alt-D...
