Log files in Great Plains 8.0

We use a web based program to import orders from our website into Great
Plains. We have recently come across some errors where invoices show
up with no associated order or customer information. The only thing
that shows on these invoices is item information. I believe these
invoices are generated somehow by a glitch in the import we do for our
web orders. Is there a log file somewhere in GP where I can see what
information was entered based on date? Or if anyone else has
experienced this problem before, am I correct in my assumption that the
"ghost" invoices are being caused by a glitch in the import, and do you
know how to fix it? Thanks in advance
Jeff

Exit Great Plains and edit your DEX.ini file under the application folder and
change the following line
SQLLogSQLStmt=FALSE
To
SQLLogSQLStmt=TRUE

You will then see DEXSQL.LOG file in the application folder that contains
all the SQL statements in it.

Jeff,
How are you importing the records? Integration manager? eConnect?
Are you writing directly to the SQL tables?
Are you creating them directly as invoices?
I have not heard of a ghost invoice when IM or eConnect are used - they are
designed to fail the transactions that are improper.

I believe we are using eConnect. I am still relatively new to this
company and am still trying to figure out all the processes. What I do
know is that one of our employees logs into a web program called
comersus and from there she imports the orders into Great Plains. I am
not sure if eConnect is involved in this process but I do know that we
have the eConnect module.

Jeff
eConnect is often wrapped up in some vb.net or other application.
That may be the case here - your var may have created an integration
application for you.
please contact them for guidance.

Comma Delimited (CSV) Files
How can I save an excel file as a comma delimited (CSV) file, BUT still maintain a format that allows for 15-digit credit card numbers? These usually require special cell formatting (ie text or number) that get lost when saved as a CSV file. My understanding is that saving as CSV saves all formats as "General." The result is a file that displays credit card numbers in scientific notation (3.71528E+14)!! This doesn't work for batch uploading to process credit cards. troubles with delimited files
I receive orders via CSV files. Below is one of the troublemakers. If you notice, the sku# is 9185 and the 16 digit following ends in 9185. Great! No matter if I open as CSV, TXT, or cut-n-paste, then opt to delimit into columns, the 16 digit number will always resolve to 9990000000009180 which is a mismatch. Also, with the cell not wide enough, it displays as 9.99E+15. All other similar 16 digit numbers would display as 999E+15 and delimit without issue. 0140160852,John Doe,222 daley st,,,boston,MA,03125,US,555-555-5555,CG,,9185,9990000000009185,2,10626315001,1,Y,UOL,,,store ...
