Just had a call from a user that her Menu bar (File, Edit,
View, Tools, etc...) is gone from all spreadsheets.
I cannot restore them due to the menu bar being gone. How
can I replace this without using safe mode?
Any help is appreciated.
View>toggle the Full Screen icon on/off. Does that help?

Excel macro 04-10-10I have a macro which contains a formula which creates a number in a cell. I
want to use that result in a formula in another cell. How do I save the
result from the first cell so that I can use it in a second cell. The
relative locations of the two cells may vary from spreadsheet to spreadsheet
but I know how to activate each cell.

It work fine on Windows XP Home/Pro but was not part of Excel after 2000.
Here is some information that may help: The other response was good - the
installer does not seem to work since I downloaded and tried it several
times. However, getting another copy does the trick - I had a copy of Office
2000 running on another machine so there is a good probablility that any copy

Excel BuilderHello I am trying to use Great Plains Excel builder to connect to a SQL
Server Table.
But when I change the security to include it in the list, it does not
display any tables. I am assuming it is a security issue, but even with the
SA account I don't see them.
When I just select the database and choose save it gives the following error.
GPS Error: 58
SQL Error: 102 Microsoft ssql native client sql server incorrect syntax near

Problem with Excel 2003 TemplateI downloaded a "Membership List" from Microsoft. It's fine except that the
task pane opens when I open the program. I have unchecked the task pane
option in tools/options, and tools/customize, and in view.
Nothing works. How can I stop the task pane from opening?

I don't have 2003, but you might try to copy and paste the data from your
downloaded list, over to another Excel workbook.

Printing Excel WorksheetI have made a summary that runs to 10 columns and a number of lines. The area
I want to print out - and have switched my printer to landscape already - is
A1 to K35.
I'm struggling in setting the area for that printing and don't seem to be

What exactly does 'not working' mean? What type of chart?
The use of NA() in a line chart will only suppress the displaying of a data
marker. The line will be interpolated between real data points.

Depends what "export" means.
You can copy and paste a chart from Excel to most programs. Generally a
Paste Special works best when you just want a picture of the chart in say a
Word or PPT document.
If you want the chart in its own file, paste to a graphics program and do a
Save As
And then there are macro solutions.

If this is a comment that will be used very often, then you can create a
comment ID in the Comment Setup window (Tools > Setup > Company > Comments)
by entering the Comment ID, i.e., POREFRNCE. and setting the series to
Purchasing.

Missing Menu BarI have a situation where the menu bar has disappeared. I
closed and re-opened Excel, checked to see if the menu bar
has been hidden but with no luck. Is there some kind of
refresh process that can be tried to re-activate the menu
bar? I could not find anything in Excel help.

My excel skills aren't exaclty up to par, so I'm having some difficulties.
I need to insert data into an excel worksheet. That data would then be
inserted into an excel graph. But because I'll be inserting new data into
the worksheet every day, I'll need to find a way to automatically update the
graph with the new data inserted. This way I don't have to do it manually
every time I add something.

The key is to know that percentage is merely a fraction multiplied by 100.

I have read the threads on rotating Excel charts and realise that Stock charts cannot be rotated there. But I must rotate and put side by side 4 such charts (High-Low-Close). I cannot rotate them in Word or Powerpoint - the rotate function is disabled. I can rotate them and appose them very well in Appleworks but then I lose a lot of definition in the chart and the text.
