Mac Excel 08 puts "#VALUE!" in all pivot table references when opening an WIN Excel 97 file.

I recently bought a MacBook Pro 15.4, 3.06GHz, 8GB RAM running Mac Excel 2008 (v12.1.0 080409). When I use Mac Excel 2008 to open excel files that I created in Windows Excel 97 2004, all my pivot tables convert correctly but any REFERENCES to any fields within the pivot table do NOT show the valid values that Excel 97 showed. Instead all refrences have "#VALUE!" in the cell. There is a valid reference startement there but no valid value. How can I fix this?

charts in it already. Currently to update the charts I need to pick the

Therefore i have a field called Site which is a text and another field
called materials which is the number of materials.

I have tried this and it doesnt compute based on the Site field or at least
the text isnt matching as I have changed the Site to Mexico and it still
calculates based on the 2000 amount. Anyone know why?
Since Site is a text field, the calculated field will evaluate all Sites

couldn't find version 7.5.
Extender was not owned by Microsoft before version 8 I believe.

Does anyone know just what the 'too few parameters' error is in getting
external data (I get all my external data from MS Access)?
Sometimes I see this error when I have renamed my fields in Acces or if I
have a parameter query or something like that, and rightfully so. But
sometimes I get this error and I can find no reason why - the query runs fine
and the field names havent changed. I used to think it was more 'complicated'
queries in Access (i.e. union queries, left joins, etc.), but now excel is
acting up on a simple se...Table cells.
Hello to all my good friends out there.
I have created a table with a size of 3.6cm high by 20cm wide. The table
itself is 4 cells by 4 cells.
If I decide to play about with the size of the individual cells making them
higher, wider or shorter etc but then decide that I want them equally
distributed in width and/or height again, is there easy way to do this. I
cannot seem to do this without having to recreate a new table. The overall
table size obviously must stay the same.

Looking at a user's Outlook on their home PC. Originally they had Outlook
XP, then upgraded to Outlook 2003 and recently to Outlook 2007. Their PST
still hits that 2GB limit at times so they periodically archive older
emails/folders. My understanding is that there is a 20GB limit on Outlook
2007. Why am I still hitting the 2GB barrier? Does the PST not get
converted to the new format when an upgrade is performed on an older PST?
What is the best way to convert their PST to the new format so the 2GB limit
issue goes away? Thanks.

I'm bringing in data from an external database & creating a Pivot table with
grouped dates (Eg months)
when this table is copied and the date grouping changed from say months to
qtrs it changes the original to qtrs as well
is it possible to avoid this happening without creating seperate workbooks
You can always create another Pivot table within the same workbook, but not
link it to the existing one, You will pay the price in terms of filesize,
but it will fix your problem.

and the 2nd is to check the sync process using the SQL Profile this is only
possible if you have enterprise edition of sql server, I do always use this

I have an electronic statement from my broker that lists daily p/l and the
acct balance. I have built a pivot table over the data, and the MTD P/L
shows fine, but is there a way to get the Pivot Table to show the ending
balance for prior months (and the current balance for the current month)? I
can only get the PTable to total the balance field, which is not correct.

...Sync Palm with 2 comptuers
I have a problem, everytime that I sync my Palm every Birthdays and Anniversary,
and all other such event are re-added, so right now I have about 100 reminder of
my mother, wife and children birthday, and my anniversary. I think that one of
each is enough (at least for me ;-) ).

You don't mention what program you are using to sync with Outlook
(Palm conduits, Pocket Mirror, etc.). If using the Palm conduits ...Extend Volume
I did an extension of system partition on a server 2008 x64 SP1 which ends
with a "wrong parameter" failure at end. Disk management console shows up the
new size but within explorer and drive properties window still it has the old
size. I did a reboot and disk check (with no errors) - no changes. Eventlog
doesn't show any relevant informations.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a workbook of over one hundred sheets, each with at least one query or pivot table, but some have upwards of 20 pivot tables on a sheet. These have to be refreshed in a certain order (not in sheet order), and allowed to complete before going onto the next query or Pivot (no background refreshes), so a VB script seemed the best way to do the job
