does sa have automatic Modified Forms access in GP 10?

Hello:

I know that, in GP 10.0, sa is tagged with "DEFAULT USER" for Alternate and
Modified windows and reports and has a Power User role.

But, I imported Modifier code into GP 10.0 here on my laptop and sa
automatically was able to see the modification even though the DEFAULT USER
"role" did not have security access to it.

Does sa automatically have access to mods, no matter what the security setup
is like?

Thanks!

While I have not tested all of the form types that can be modified, I know
that when I modify a Dynamics report I have to add that report to the Default
User (or select the modified document for the Default User) before sa can run
that report. Now, you IMPORTED forms and it is possible that whoever built
those forms added them to the security package through the
import..........Just guessing here.

The user 'sa' belongs to the POWERUSER Role, so it has access to all the
original forms and reports.

If it is using the DEFAULT USER alternate forms and reports ID, it will have
the access to the customisation as described by those settings.

By default, this will include various alternate windows needed by the
products, such as Smartlist lookups and project alternates etc.

You will need to grant access to modified forms and reports by changing the
DEFAULT USER ID or by creating a new ID with access granted.

You can create a new ID and import the DEFAULT USER ID as a starting point
and then add your modified forms. Then assign this new ID to the user 'sa'.

Hope this helps

Access Query
Any help would be appreciated. When viewing records resulting from a multiple table query, I discovered "Duplicate" records being selected. However, all fields are not exactly the same, for the value selected from the second table makes the record truly unique. How do I modify the query statement to "output" only one occurance of the record? I tried unique value for the "member number" field but the query still selected member 001 two times. -- Brent Brent - You need to tell Access how to decide which of the two fields is the one you w...

Change the automatic classification format ?
Hi, The default format quote is "XXXX-0000-XXXXXX". But we don't need the suffix. Is it possible to change this auto format, or to give another value to the suffix, as the name or the initials of the user who create the quote ? If it's possible, I use the same way for the orders. Maybe changes are possible in the SQL tables ? Thanks for your help. ...

Stylecop SA 1201 and initialization order
Hi, We currently have the problem that stylecop complains "All private fields must be placed after all public fields. [StyleCop Rule SA1202]". But the specific private static readonly field is used as an input in the initialization expressions for several public static readonly fields, so reversing the field order breaks initialization order of those static members. How should we deal with that? Thanks, Markus MarkusSchaber wrote: > We currently have the problem that stylecop complains "All private > fields must be placed after all public fields. [StyleC...

filtering by form
I have a table that has all my company's clients; is there a way to filter by form to see just the clients that are affiliated with one particular name? (i.e., if a saleperson wanted to see only their clients and pull up each form that contains only his clients, how can that be done?) The answer will depend on how your data is structured, and what version of Access you use. In the Client table, do you have a StaffID field, so that each client is assigned to one sales person? If so, you can just filter on the StaffID field. In Access 2002 and later, if you use a combo for this fiel...

Do not modify the table???

If you do this - Great Plains Dexterity engine will fail reading all your items - due to the fact that DYNAMICS.DIC (main Great Plains Dictionary file) has exact description of all the tables and Dexterity uses it for reading and writing into the specific table http://www.albaspectrum.com/Customization...
