excel 2000 cannot read record 100 in SYLK files it itself writesAs in the subject, the problem is as follows:
If Excel 2000 writes a sheet in SYLK format, it has problems opening the =

The message is: cannot read record 100
This happens even with an empty sheet.
The latest updates are all installed.
Excel runs on Windows 2000.
How to proceed?

I've never used a .slk file in real life, but I just created a test file with

I saved it as a .slk file, closed it and reopened it.
I got the same error along with 103, 106, and 109. But the data looked ok.

Sharing calendars so everyone can view but not readI have been asked by the company where I work to find out if it is possible
to make a setting where you can share your calendar but all the busy-times
comes up as private or white boxes.
They want to let some people see what appointments are about, some people
should only see "white boxes" when they are busy and they want to make
appointments private when noone should see it.
As it is now, they have to start inviting to a meeting to find a time
everyone can come, instead of having shared calendars side by side.
Is there a setting in Exchange to make this possible? We are using...
I cannot read my ex-employee's pst fileHi, all:
I restored a ex-employee's pst file from my backup to my local HD. I am
using OUTLOOK 2000. I tried to add another personal folder pointed to the
restored pst file. But I got a message saying that it is not a personal
folder file.
Any help there?
BTW, we are runnint Exchange 5.5 server.
Thanks, alot!
RIck
If the ex-employee was using Outlook 2003, and created a unicode pst,
you wont be able to read it with Outlook 2000.

What kind of disks? Disks with Office data on them? Office install disks?
Since you posted in a newsgroup for Mac Office, that's why I'm asking. If
your iMac won't read any disks - a variety of CD/DVDs - this has nothing to
do with Mac Office and everything to do with a broken optical drive.
Contact Apple support for help with that.

ERROR: Cannot read one instance of this recurring appointmentI have seen many people with this same problem and have not seen any
real explanation as to what causes it, or how to fix it. This problem
has becoming quite a nuisance in my office and I'm hoping someone has
a real solution. We are running Exchange Enterprise 2000, and both
Outlook 2002 and 2003. We have a shared office calendar and individual
calendars where meetings are created and modified. This error will only
happen with recurring events and only after one occurrence of that
event has been modified. Our office calendar has 25-30 events per day
on it and has never had problems until r...
Newline characters not read in appointmentsHi
I am facing a strange issue. When i am sending appointments with the following text :
"Hi
There is a meeting tomorrow.
Regards
Rahul"
The Invitees get the appointment with the following text in the body:
"Hi There is a meeting tomorrow. Regards Rahul"
The whole text appears in a single line. Newline characters are not read. Emails and other activities are working fine. Any idea why?

downloaded/uploaded sheet not reading data.worksheet created from downloaded data. when clicking on cells with
data, format cell option not available. macros wont recognize data as
data either. some data is words and some numbers. any way to convert
entire page format to the appropiate text & numbers?
Could be any number of reasons, some of which are addressed in your previous
posting.
TRIM, CLEAN can get rid of some extras.
Non-breaking spaces due to HTML will not respond to Trim or Clean.
Do an Edit>Replace for Alt + 0160
Enter the 0160 on the numpad.
Could be linefeeds like 0010 or 0013

I highy doubt they're encrypted. What makes you believe they are?
I think, instead, that you see the MIME *encoding* of the attachment because
something is preventing Outlook from seeing the message data correctly so that
it can decode it properly into the original. ...

What versions of Excel are involved? XL2007 can read and write both
the new formats (xlsm, xlsx, xlsb) and the old format (xls). Unless
you have the Office Compatibility Pack

2003 has no knowlege of the new formats, it assume the file is

emails from certain senders. The email body has lines of additional text
hiding the content of the email yet if it is forwarded the user can read no

I have tried changing her format from html to rich text etc and still the

perfectly OK and the extra lines of text still appear when she receives it.
