Shared Mailbox to User Mailbox

I have a user account on our Exchange 2007 server, the account used to be
Exchange 2003, and before that Exchange 2000, and has been moved along with
each migration.

The account is a Shared Mailbox, and she cannot use Outlook Web Access. She
says she has not been able to in the last 6 years, which is how long her
account has been around.

I would like to know how to change her account from a Shared Mailbox to a
User Mailbox without deleting and recreating a new account.

Thanks,

Tim

recreating a user mailbox
Some users are seeing intermitent errors in their Outlook 2000 clients. We are using Exchange server 5.5. I tried creating a new outlook profile and installing Office 2000 sr1 and sp3 but they still get the errors. I saw some mention on the web about recreating their mailbox on the exchange server. How do I do this and restore all their mail and folders? They are getting "Outlook has generated errors" when their client has been open for awhile and they try to perform some action (reply to an email, closing outlook, etc). I would say that recreating mailbox will not fix Outloo...

Excel Backup Files, shared Network
Hi there, There is a spreadsheet that my team uses (team of 30), which is accessed upto 50 times or more a day and it regularly either dissapears or becomes corrupt. The file is stored on a large shared network. Our IT support provider only provides backup copies every evening. Is there a more regular way of keeping back-up copies - say every hour? Is there an 'automatic' way of doing this, rather than someone manual backing-up a copy every hour? Your help would be appreciated, Thanks all, :) -- genuinegal --------------------------------------------------------------...

Disabled user account = normal account ?
Hi, the ADC synchronizes our Exchange 5.5 and the Active Directory. As planned there were disabled accounts created (for resource mailboxes). Are these disabled user accounts "normal" user accounts ? If I will enable one of them, will this function as a normal user account ? And is it possible to connect a mailbox (belongs to a disabled acccount) at the Exchange 5.5 Administrator console to another user (change the primary account within Exchange 5.5, remove the disabled user account at AD) without the AD cleanup wizard ? Thanks for your tips. Regards, Rainer On Tue, 27 Jul 200...

mailboxes clean up tools
I would like you to try to find some tools that will allow me to apply per-mailbox and per-folder policies to our Exchange 5.5 mailboxes. For example, I'd like to be able to say: delete everything in everyone's deleted items folder older than 180 days. Also, delete everything in Joe Smith's inbox older than 90 days, but only delete things in Margre G's inbox older than 180 days. ...

Individual Mailbox logging
Other than the Message Tracking application in the Exchange System Manager, is there a way to give a report on email activity for a specific mailbox? A manager is inquiring about the usage of a particular mailbox, and I want to be able to provide a report (basic Sender, Recepient, Subject, Date/Time) to the manager. I can do this with the Message Tracking, however I cannot output the results to anything (such as a txt, csv) but a screen capture. Is trhere another way to produce these results within ESM? ...

Howto Determine AD User Accts Having Passwords < 6 characters
I am dealing with a legacy Active Directory implementation in which the prior administrator failed to implement mimimum password character length. Our plan is to notify users a month or so in advance that they need to change their password to one with at least 6 characters and if they fail to do so by a date certain they will no longer be able to login to the network. The problem is that there are many 'generic' accounts which do not correspond to a live user and there are even more accounts not having e-mail addresses so the notification process will be torturous. What I...

To cablevision users
Some where in the coming month I intend to hook up a new pc with Windows 7. Recognizing that I no longer have Outlook Express I will call my cable company to talk me through the new windows email setup. Like to hear from anyone who has gone this route and their experience with optonline.net (Cablevision). In short I'm not hung up in loosing an email as long as my original premise is correct and they (Cablevision) set you up. Optonline is not even available in my area, so I can't comment on that. However, since you realize you won't have OE, you should first deci...

Restricted user Access
Using Windows XP (OS) and Office 97 I have a cell (Ref: A1) that returns a user name via a Function module. I want to produce a module with a function which, when the workbook is opened the function refers to Cell A1 and determines if a user is not permitted to use the workbook or not. Upon this outcome the workbook is either terminated or allows the user to continue. I've tried using and "Playing" with the following but really have no idea how to do it.:- Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) 'Joe Bloggs - OK to use 'Paul Smith - OK to use If...

how do I configure the 10 users within CRM
I am currently planning an implementation of MS CRM. I have 10 users. How should they be configured (ie. best practice, simplest way)? I'm interested in the way they should be setup - if there are 4 geographic states, one sales manager in each, and one CEO. Kind Regards, There is not a simple answer to this as "it depends"..... You have probably recongnised that CRM caters for 'Business Units' and User are associated with a Business Unit.......so yes, you can setup your four geographies each with their respective users and the CEO at the top of the tree (in the...

Sharing between spreadsheets
In Spreadsheet A I have a list of tasks and values next to those tasks. In Spreadsheet B I have totals of the values from Spreadsheet A. If I have Spreadsheet B open at the same time as A and change something in A, B is updated. If I close B, change something in A and then try opening B again, all the values will be stuffed up by however many rows were added/deleted. I've tried locking the cells with $ and then again without locking them. I've also tried going to the External Data toolbar, but the only thing available is the 'Refresh All' option which has no visibl...

Spelling and Grammar Check
Our group runs Spelling and Grammar Check on Word Documents before they are sent to the Production group. The Production group will always run Spelling and Grammar Check again to validate that it has been run - and will receive the Microsoft Office Word pop-up box saying "The spelling and grammar check is complete" so they don't have to go through it again. But with some users, this functionality is not passed along, and the Production group keeps telling us we didn't run Spelling and Grammar Check even though we get the confirm pop-up box ourselves. Is this a d...

Admin not got perms to users mailbox?
I have a exchange organistaion with one exchange 2003 box in europe and one in the US, all inteh same W2K3 domain. For the European mailboxes, the exchange admins can have full access to the mailbxes but for some reason we cannot get access to the US mailboxes to open them. Having checked the permissions in the mailbox rights for the US users and unlike the Euro ones, they have a deny tick in "full mailbox rights" and its greyed to imply this is inherited. Anyone got any ideas how I can clear the tick as it applies to domain admin, exchange admin, and all admins, and is caus...

The mailbox not deleting due to being reconnected issue
We have Exch 2003 SP2 on server 2003 in an A/P cluster. We were doing a large mailbox move when someone decided to power off the server. Well anyway, I have just one account now that sits forever saying it can't delete the item due to the reconnected deal. The mailbox that was moved opens and seems to work fine. I have tried the move mailbox back to the store and it says fine duplicate mailbox so it was deleted but even after doing the cleanup process it still won't delete. It actually disappeared once but would not delete. Now it is showing again. I need to delete the en...

Recognising the user switch between Form view and Data sheet view

So,is there an event which is fired when the form's view style is being changed,so that I could put appropriate coding there? Either Access 2003 or 2007 could be used, preferably 2003. I realize I could put a button on the form in form view, say,whe...

Shared Calendars
Can you have shared calendars on a home wireless network between family computers? If so, how does one go about creating shared calendars. Outlook Web Access User Name
Whenever I use Internet Explorer (under Win XP Pro) to remotely access my company email using Outlook Web Access (OWA), the "connect to" dialog box comes up with spots for User name and password. When I start typing in my user name, it tries to autofill using an invalid user name. Is there some way to delete this from the fill-in box permanently?
