Please help - can't migrate Ex5.5 -> Ex2K

Problem:
I can't get my Exchange 2000 migration wizard to communicate with an 
Exchange 5.5 server.

Environment:
On an "inherited" network, I have a newly built (by me) Win2K SP4 server 
running AD (only server in AD), and an old Exchange 5.5 server on a 
separate NT4 SP6a domain (PDC) - on the same subnet.  I have removed 
TCPIP and have reinstalled SPs for Exch and NT4.

I have 2-way trusts set up between the domains, and they can browse each 
other's files.  DNS has been set up, and I have forward zones for both 
of the domains. There is no internal DNS on the NT4 domain.  In each 
zone, I've created a record for the other DC. I have accounted for the 
port 389 conflict, but more on that later.

I have an Exchange Service Admin set up on the 5.5 server, and that is 
what I'm using to log on with the 2K migration tool.  I have tried the 
username with and without the leading domain (domain\admin).

Symptoms:
When I tell the migration wizard what I want it to do, and specify the 
source server by either name or IP address, it tells me it can't log 
onto the server.  "Unable to logon to the server. Verify name, port, 
etc, etc."

Strange stuff:
My 5.5 server does not listen on any LDAP port unless I specify a port 
to use in the registry. netstat -a shows no listening port of 389 or 390 
(or any other) which is specified in the LDAP settings in Exchange 
Admin.  Once I told the MSExchangeDS key in the registry to use 390, it 
shows up in netstat.  I can telnet to the 5.5 server from the 2K server 
on that port - once it's been specified in the registry.

Also, I cannot add another Exchange Service Admin to the 5.5 machine, to 
test if its the credentials of that user. When I hit the button to 
browse so I can add another user, it times out, telling me I don't have 
permission.  I'm logged onto the 5.5 server as that user, and he is in 
all the Admin groups in User Manager.  I have manually reset the 
password for this service account user on the domain and in Exch Admin.

I've been scratching my head over this all weekend, and I'm out of 
ideas. I'm considering a call to M$, but I don't know that they will be 
able to tell me anything other than what I think I already know: My Exch 
5.5 box is corrupt in some way and I need to take a backup of it and 
rebuild it.  (I do have a full Backup Exec Exch Agent tape backup, by 
the way.)

Please please offer any suggestions you have. I'd greatly appreciate 
some insight.

mail merge in publisher #5
I have created a document in publisher 2007 which contain mail merge fields. When I preview the documents the mail merge fields are shown correctly. Migration and rename question
I have an NT4 domain with Exchange 5.5. I need to upgrade the domain to Windows 2003 and Exchange to 2003 enterprise. Our current domain name is a name our company hasn't used in many years and I would like to change to our current name as well. Publisher 2007 Trial Help
I installed the trial version of Publisher 2007 and want to uninstall it now. I have tried to remove in the "add/remove" programs section. Hi I have a Worksheet with option buttons and I need the users to be able to click on the options but not be able to drag or move them. I don't want the users to be able to click into or type anything in any of the cells - only these options buttons???? How is it done.
