new Ex2k3 build and Outlook 2k3 outbox issue

Hello,
I have an interesting issue, we just built an Ex2k3 SP1 Cluster that we are
going to go live with this weekend. In doing some tests the following
happens. Send an email to a mailbox on the cluster and it sits in Outbox
until I either send another message or click on the outbox, as soon as I do
that it goes through. This is the first non 5.5 server in the company, on a
new Active Directory domain. This seems to be happening with Outlook 2k3
cached and non-cached, tested with XP and we can see it hit the outbox and
immediately sends.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jeremey

It's probably not a server or client issue. The problem is with the client
folders getting updated. Usually the cause of this is an issue where UDP
packets are being blocked between the server and client. New mail
notifications (server sends update to client) are sent via UDP packets. Do
you have any sort of router or firewall between the server and client? I'd
start troubleshooting this by doing some network traces from both the server
and the client. Make sure that the UDP packets are being sent from the
server, and find out if they are making it to the client.

That is very interesting. I had my Windows Firewall turned on, on my pc. I
tested with turning it off and it worked. So I added Outlook to the exempt
and that worked as well. So why when communicating with an Exchange 5.5
server does this not happen?

Thanks,
Jeremey

Dunno :-) Ask the XP SP2 guys?

It typically hasn't been an issue on internal LAN's, at least not until XP
SP2. Prior to that, it was always a big issue when connecting over a VPN.

Outlook Issue #7
I am using Outlook2003SP1 with Exchange 2003. When I first start outlook and open either a message or a calendar request when I press the button(s) or select from the menu any of these functions; send, reply, forward, reply to all, accept, decline, print, permissions, follow up, previous, next basically any function nothing happens. The only things that seems to work is the close, change font and move to folder buttons/functions. Once I close the item and open it up again everything works. I have to do this for either messages or calendar items. I have tried creating a different mail prof...

UGH, I'm gonna start screaming!!!!! I KNOW that at some point in time, I was able to view my Inbox and have my task list displayed on the right side of the "window". Outlook 2003, Windows 7, crashing on Reminders
Hi All. I'm using Outlook 2003 SP3 on my new Windows 7 machine. All is fine in Outlook until the reminder window needs to pop up. As soon as it does, with maybe a second delay, the entire computer seizes and I need to power off to reboot. None of the reminders actually load/display in the pop-up Reminders window, though the title bar for the pop-up starts to count the number but stalls on "1 Reminder".
