My POP3 users are VERY slow

hi

i hav exch2003 and xp pro clients. Some of my users connect from remote
offices to my exchange via a POP3 account via the Internet(broad band
connection) to my exchange. The connection to my exchange when they try to
send and receive is VERY slow.Their internet connection seems fine after i
thought it is the internet connection that is the problem.

My question: is there a setting in exchnge 2003 where the amount of POP3
users connecting to the exchange is limited OR the speed of them.... This is
quite frustrating as the users keeps on phoning and then i must delete the
bigger messages...Any help would be highly appreciated

thanks, craig

User Security #2
Does anyone know if you can allow a user to just view reports only? I might be able to answer this but someone else is going to ask this question so let's get it out of the way now. Problem
Ever since I added a Microsoft Exchange Server Account and all it6s associated folders and its in-box to my pre-existing Personal Outlook 2003 POP3 folders, I have had nothing but confusion. The Exchange Server account from my workplace downloads its messages into the in-Box for my private ISP POP3 account and vice versa. When I try to configure a rule for my personal POP3 account so that any messages addressed to my workplace account are loaded into the exchange server in-box on my client PC, the software tells me I have to go on-line to Exchange Server - even to create rules for th...

Multiple users of access
if i create a database for a company how can it be asseed by many users in the company. Officially, 255. I wouldn't try that many except in a read-only mode. Some non Access database developers would be tempted to say 0 or 5 at most. They know less about databases, and especially Access databases, than they should. Most articles by Accrss developers use, the number 20, as a safe number. I have had as many as 75 concurrent users in a well designed database, without any problems whatsoever. I've heard of many more, but can't verify that. -- Arvin Meyer, MCP, MVP ...

How to disable Outlook Web Access for multiple users?
By default, Outlook Web Access is enabled for users. By what way, we can disable the web access for a large number of users without by changing the setting one by one? Thank you Sam Dear Samuel, it is easy, it is the same way when you want to create a mailbox for bulk of users. 1. Select all the users that you want to disable the OWA for them, if these users are under the same OU, then open this OU and select all the users, or if they are on different OU's, they you have to define a search query and find a common attributes fo them so you can select them all. 2. right click on ...

Visio 2000
I have Vision 2000 SP1 running on my laptop. It worked fine until about a month ago and now it takes 3-10 minutes for it to start up. I get to the screen to choose a file or a drawing type quickly, then once I select either an existing file or a new file to open, it gives a Wait message in the lower right hand corner and takes a very long time to load. multiple companies, want users to not see other companies in GAL

Attachments visible to Outlook users, not to Outlook Express users
Attachments sent by just one of our users from Outlook 2003 (fully updated) cannot be read by another user in Outlook Express. She can receive attachments from other users (this isn't the security issue where OE is hiding attachments that might represent a security risk). Looking at the message source in OE I see this: Content-Type: application/ms-tnef; name="winmail.dat" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="winmail.dat" I understood it's well-known that most user agents can't decode "Outlook Rich Te...

Excel inserting slow
On a complete new windows 7 64 bit pc with office 2007, it is running extremly slow when opening documents or inserting normal pictures. When I go to excel, for example, and click "insert" and than "picture" it first freezes 3-4 seconds. I can than browse my network with normal speed, but when I than again insert a jpg (3kb), it goes nearly 10 seconds before the image shows. If I do the same ind "paint" which is integrated in windows it shows it asap, as normal. The same problem occurs to word, when opening or trying to insert a picture. If I ...

Webhosted POP3 without a Exchange POP3
Hello, My current environment includes a windows SBS 2003 domain with exchange 2003. Our e-mail currently is being webhosted and most of our users have Exchange POP3 mailboxes setup. This is working just fine for getting mail from the Internet. The problem that I am having is that I have a user who has a webhosted POP3 account but is not setup with a Exchange POP3 mailbox and since the user is not setup with the mailbox I can not send her e-mail and I get an error about an e-mail that does not exist at the organization. This makes sense because no Exchange mailbox was setup. I can not se...

POP3 still not working
On July 17, Outlook and Outlook Express lost the ability to download email messages. Repeated calls to support have yielded nothing but "we are working on it". For 6 weeks????? This is an email program!!! Mysteriously, I have seen little press about this outage, perhaps the largest in a software product's history. I understand OE is free, but Outlook is not. I have paid a lot of money for a product that is crippled, and am not convinced anything is being done to fix it. Way to go, Microsoft. Interesting - my Outlook has never stopped working. update CDialog region in a user defined message handler
Hello everyone, I found a library on CodeProject, named CPictureEx, to be able to load jpeg images in an MFC application. I created a control of type CStatic and then converted to this type(CPictureEx) to be able to associate this control to an image. I'm using this library in a dialog based project. No SDI/MDI. I have a user-defined message to update the region of this CPictureEx variable. When the main dialog receives my user-defined message it successfully updates the region and displays the jpeg file. However, it fails when it comes to unloading the jpeg file. When I mi...

Roaming Office Errors for Network Users
We have had ongoing issues with Word and Excel, both v.X and 2004. In Word, the problem is usually a Disk Full error, with Excel it is usually a Document not Saved error when the user saves. Our users are network accounts on Xserves running 10.4.9 and clients are both PPC and X86 Macs, running 10.4.7 - 10.4.9. All user IDs are unique and managed via Open Directory. The problems arise typically after the user has been working with the file for some time. In the Word situation, the error pops up unexpectedly, while the Excel error only pops up on a save. In both cases, Word and Excel f...

Deleted user confused with active user w/same last name

When someone tries to invite the active user to a meeting they are getting an email error back stating that the deleted user cannot be found in Exchange. The deleted user is not being selected in Outlook for the meeting but for some reason Outlook is trying to invite the wrong user to the meeting. I can't figure out why this is happening, does anyone have any suggestions what I can look for to correct this? Thanks. On 23 Jan 2006 18:25:39 -0800, tdunnusa@...
