That is bad idea, except in cases where you do not care about data.

see this before you do anything...transaction logs are needed in DR...they
should be being purged by your nightly online backup...

'insert file' missing file types (not all showed)
Hi there, I'm facing a puzzling Outlook 2003 problem so I'm trying the forum to see if anyone encountered similar behaviour and/or found a solution. On 'a couple' of workstations in the company there is a problem when users try to attach files in their e-mails. Not all file types are displayed in the 'insert file' dialog box (yes, *.* selected). For instance .zip files are not displayed. There is no problem receiving these kind of attachments! There is only a problem when trying to select these files as attachment using the 'insert file' dialog. We use ...

Three characters at beginning of xml file written with xmltextwriter
Here they are: They appear at the beginning of the file. If I cut and paste the file with these characters into a xml validator I get an error. Logs
Hello, I am working on an Exchange server with issues. I have gained access to the log files and at first glance (tho the logs aren't exactly comprehensible), it would appear that the Exchange server is relaying SPAM. I am hoping somebody would care to explain to me the way in which an Exchange server operates, what are it's mechanisms to not be an open relay and basically how do I make sense of these logs. If a sender and the subject of his email is represented in the log, does that mean the server has sent that email? Many SPAM emails in the logs are undeliverable, does the ...

FRx log in issue
I'm currently experiencing a problem logging into the FRx designer or launcher. What happens is after a day or two of not using FRx, I try to log in and get a "Try Again?" message. This happens with all the clients logging into the database; regardless of the company they are trying to access. The work-around that I have is to go into the company information, change the ODBC path to something else and then change it back. Once I save it, I'm asked for a user ID and password. FRx will take the user name and password at that time. After that I'll be able to ...

PostScript Files
To get a film positive output from Publisher files, I am asked either for a .PDF or PostScript file. The PDFs that Adobe PDF Writer makes seem to be of lesser quality (resolution) than the Publisher document, with variable line widths and jagged edges. How does one create a PostScript file, and how does one view it? I can "Save As" a PS file, but often Publisher asks me to specify a PostScript printer... what's that? And then once I get the file, when I double-clike to open Acrobat Distiller takes over and creates a .PDF automatically, which, by the way, is a much b...

We noticed that some messages, that we send, are logged in Tracking log files, but there are nothing about them in SMTP log files and the recepient did not received the messages. I checked the Antivirus and the Spam software - nothing unusual. Any suggestions what it could be? Thanks, What are the details that the tracking logs show? OWA and logging onto different mailboxes
With Exchange 5.5 OWA it was possible to connect to any mailbox and then enter userid and password. For example, at the inital web page I could enter "Support" as the mailbox and click the "Login" button, then enter my username and password in the dialog box that pops up. In this way I could connect to any generic/resource/shared/user mailbox I have permission to view. With Exchange Server 2003 OWA I don't seem to have that option. With only a Username and Password field to determine the mailbox, I can only connect to my mailbox. Q: How do I connect to other mailboxe...

xls file sizes / memory errors
My problem is two pronged. Firstly, I need to be able to reduce the saved file size (approx 2.7mb) to facilitate email distribution and website downloads, without losing worksheets within my workbook, and without losing formating (which is fairly extensive). Secondly, various users have been getting not enough memory errors. I understand that this is partially because of Excel's 64mb heap space. What else may be causing these errors, and how do I prevent them? All advice would be appreciated Thanks in advance. Stuart Bazzard Hi Stuart, There are some tips for reducing file size...

Money's import file format question.
Hi, First, excuse me if I am using the wrong terminology. Actually I have only seen Microsoft Money a couple times over the years. That said. . . Let’s suppose that a bank can provide an electronic statement and they can provide that statement in the Microsoft Money native import format. I would like to import that file into another database (ie. MSSQL). Can you please tell me if this file is something standard like a “tab” or “csv” delimited file that may also (but not necessarily) have header and/or footer rows? If it doesn’t have a header row(s), then I would at least need to know ...
