Circular logging Log files full

I have an issue with the logs files filled up and out of drive space because
our backup is not running complete right now. I have one of our guys working
on getting the backup running but in the mean time i have turned on Circular
logging on our front end server. The problem is i am now receiving email from
the outside. But i cannot send out and the Queu's are getting filled up and
not kicking anything through to the outside world. How do i get the Queue to
start kicking out. We are running Exchange 2003 with SP2 and have one front
end server and 2 clustered inside and 4 other not clustered.

If the Front End server has no mailboxes, circular logging should be
enabled.

As far as the queues, does the mail route through the FE? SMTP service
running?

Circular loggin again. But the Messages pending Submission is still at 3500

How to use the exact format in a csv file when opening a csv file
As captioned, in my .csv file, Field A is 02, Field B is 1.2%, Field C is 0.0, but after open in Excel, Field A becomes 2, Field B becomes 1.20%, Field C becomes 0. How to prevent Excel change the value format when opening a csv file? Thx!! I don't think you can. But if you rename the file from *.csv to *.txt, you can specify each field in the data import wizard. That way you could treat the 02 as text (not numeric). But the 1.2% will come in the way excel likes. A more common approach would be to just format the cells the way you want after you import the data. tong wrote: >...

Creating a PST file at the server level
Tech guys, How do I create this PST (Archive) file from the server level. Am on office 2003 - exchange 5.5 ? A pst file can only be created by Outlook or by using the Exmerge tool against a mailbox/message store. You need to explain with a bit more detail what you are trying to do. How to display a text file dynamically?
I need to show a large text file ( <10M) to users in a dialog. Meanwhile, the file is being appened with more data by a seperate process. I have little experience with MFC. I guess I should use RichEditCtrl for this case. But I'm not sure if I should use SetDlgItemText(..) to send file content to the control. This is Question 1. Secondly, I'd like send only the newly appended part of the file to the control for every refresh, instead of the whole file everytime. Are there any existing functions/mechanisms in MFC for this purpose? By the way, I have to use VC++ for the project (no...

Excel 07 won't allow my Excel 03 files to link properly
We recently loaded excel 2007 onto my PC at work, but kept excel 03 on it as the default program since the rest of the company still uses excel 03. I noticed that now my links do not work. Most of my excel reporting is done as a shell summary workbook that links to multiple source files that have been exported from our database interface. (These can be exported as .xls or ..xl5) Before loading in 07, all of my source files were exported as .xls and worked fine. Now, even though I've totally removed excel 07 from my pc and unistalled/ reinstalled 03, the links will not ...

Circular Logging #5
I have a Exchange 2000 server with circular logging turned ON. If I do a nightly FULL backup then circular logging being ON should not really matter, right? We do not do incremental or differentail backups. thanks Well, consider the following. You backup at midnight. Your server fails at 2pm and you lose your database drive. With circular logging on, you can only recover your system back to the state it was in at midnight, i.e. you lose emails from midnight to 2pm. Best practice is to ensure circular logging is off. -- Neil Hobson Exchange MVP For Exchange news, links, and tips...

Recovery of Word docx files
Hello I am not sure if this belongs here or in the MS Discussion Groups under Windows. But, since I am talking about a specific file type, and MS pros monitor these forums, I thought I would try this one first. I had three MS Word 2007 docx files on my hard drive. I deleted them and emptied the trash. I immediately used some File Recovery programs to try to recover them. The programs were unable to find them. That seems very strange to me. Is it possibly because they are docx files? (Please - I am not trying lay blame. I am trying to understand what is happening.) The pr...

How to open a Publisher 97 file without Publisher

I want to make changes to the text and, ideally, save the clipart graphics, but my PC can't open the document (it's on a floppy.) I have Office XP, version 2002 and my son has Photoshop on his computer, but neither of us has Publisher. Is there any way to retrieve the text and edit it? Frequency Circular Reference
I posted a message a few hours ago regarding my problem with a frequency formula I was trying to use with students' grades on a spread sheet. Biff answered and solved my problem. I did what he suggested and it worked!! (A copy of my problem and Biff's response is below this paragraph.) Then I hit a key by mistake and the whole thing got screwed up. So, armed with Biff's solution, I entered the same information Biff suggested, in the exact cell cells and rows, but now it does not work! I am totally flumoxed since it worked 5 minutes ago. Anyway, if Biff is out there, o...

.RC2 Files
Can anyone explain the purpose of RC2 files generated automatically for MFC applications? Looking at it, it appears that the content of these files are included in the compilation of the main RC file, but that those resources included in the RC2 file are not modified in any way or are editable by the MFC wizards. I needed to include some resources from other files and so I added them to my RC2 file. Everything compiles great but there's just one problem: none of the resources defined there are available to my application at run time (i.e. the resources are apparently not compiled into th...

Log into GP 10
We are going to GP 10 soon, it is currently on a test machine. I have created a user, added to a role, with the relevant access. But, when I try to log in, I am going past the login screen, I am seeing the company access, but after that there is a blank screen. Please help, what have I missed? I have seen this happen before and it has to do with the Home Page not being populated.
