Exchange 2003 SP2 installation
1) There is no setup.exe after I expand the file under the setup\i386 or
setup folders. There is one in the ADC folder .. the only file I see under
setup\i386 is update.exe when I double click on that, it gives me an error
message. Any idea's what's going on?
2) How do I determine what is the service pack level on my server? Do I
start System Manager and go to Administrative groups and right click on my
server and go to General Tab to see the service pack?
1. For an SP, it's update.exe.
2. Do determine the SP level, look on the properties of the server for the
I am trying to set up a database on Access that Monitors incoming and
outgoing email traffic for specific group addresses in an Exchange Enviroment.
This only needs to be a simple culmulative count with a date stamp.
Not too sure how I would start this.
Many thanks in advance for any help that can be given.
My guess is to use MAPI to connect to and interact with the server. From
there, there should be code available to read the traffic.

I just installed exchange 2000 on a new machine on a 36GIG drive. I have
another empty 36GIG drive. I did not realize that log files take so much
space. I only 3 GIG of free space left.
1. How can I move the log files to my empty drive?
2. How can I delete these files w/o any problem on Exchange? I mean almost
20GIG of log files in one day. Give me a break.
3. Is there a way to do that automatically.

I have an Exchange 2003 with SP2.
Some reason, non-Exchange calendar invitation messages were sent to Badmail
and some users have missed some meeting.
Is there some knows why it happens and how to resolve this issue?
Thanks for your comments in advance.
I would try to figure out what is wrong with the messages. This is likely a
problem on the sender's end.

We installed about 30 PCs with Outlook 2003. We configured them to

When users switch from Calendar to Inbox and back or from Notes to

Client Server Messaging ...How does Outlook 2003 handle the MIME type message/rfc822?
could anyone tell me excactly how Microsoft Outlook 2003 handles the
MIME mediatype "message/rfc822"? The reason I am asking is because I
am currently working on a gateway to convert mail from a custom format
to the rfc2822/rfc2045-2049 specification(s).
In this custom format, it is entirely possible for a mail message to
have whole mail messages attached. It seemed like this would be easily
solved by using the message/rfc822-type to include the entire mail,
but this turned out to be a problem if the attatched mail was itself a
MIME multipart-message. In that case, Outlook si...Calender Problem after Exchange Migration
I've got a bit of a Exch Calendar problem. We recently migrated from
Exch2000 Srv to Exch2003 Srv. We also changed domain names (AD and company)
Due to time constraints and other issues I won't go into, things were a
little rushed and the way we did the migration was probably not by the MS
rules. Basically we restored a backup of the mailboxes from the old Exch2000
server to the new Exch2003 server. This was done via Qinetix MB idata agent.
We thought this would be quicker than exporting the mailbox's out as PST
files and then importing them. This part app...Outlook 2003 hangs opening msg with attachments
I just upgraded to Office 2003 from Office XP on Windows XP Pro. Outlook

attachment and almost always if there is an attachment.

No you don't. You would only need Windows 2003 Enterprise if you are
planning on doing clustering. I'm sure there are some other things it will
get you, but clustering capability is one of the big additions.
