File Handling and CachingI am writing a C/C++ application that opens a set of files and reads/writes
to these files in chunks/blocks called pages.
There are two specific types of files used to store different sets of
information. There are data files used to store the logical data records
and index files used to store index references to the logical data
records in the data file.
The data file pagesize is determined by whether its storing variable or
equal size records. For this discussion, we can ignore variable length
data files and assume that data file pagesize is equal to a record size.

Intermittent POP connection problemsHi everyone.
I have several backend Exchange 2000 servers, with an Exchange 2000 Frontend
server. After the backend servers have been running a while, POP clients
start to have problems logging in more and more frequently.
If I go under the “current sessions” area of the Exchange System Manager and
watch people log in, I see something like "<Logging in> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 20
seconds", on both the Frontend server and the backend server. The number of
seconds rises to 600 and the session disappears (from timing out I assume),
but the client never authenticates.

Cached Exchange mode has wrong cache?Hi All,
I have a goofball problem that I've been trying to fix to no avail. I'm
using Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003, connecting to the exchange server via
RPC over HTTP. Cached Exchange mode is enabled.
My problem:
When I'm connected to the server, all is well. However, if I lose my
connection, I cannot view any messages. I get the blank gray screen with the
words that say something about me having to be connected to view this
message. If I restart outlook and choose "work offline," I get the cached
copy of my old Exchange mailbox (on a different server) that I haven&...
Problems with Launch Windows ProgramsHi, I have a Windows 2008 SBS (clean install) that I'm having problems with.
I am trying to get this server up and ready, but after installation I can't
open Computer Management via Start Menu or command line or browsing directly
to the file. Also, I can't seem to open anything else in the Control Panel.
The computer does not pop any errors it just doesn't launch the apps. Every
now and then, I'll get a message saying that Windows Explorer needed to
restart (it won't; it'll hang on the restart). Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.

Problems copying cells using offset and countaI am trying to copy selected data in every 6th cell in one row(A6) on
sheet2 and put it into a single column(A) on sheet one.
So:
1 2 3 4 5 6 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 2 3 4 5 6
becomes
6
6
6
I created the following function to do this.
=OFFSET(SHEET2!$A$6,0,(6*COUNTA(("A6:A"&((CELL("row"))-1)))))
However the count part will not work. It keeps returning nothing
instead of a count of the number of cells containing data in column
A. It is neccessary to do the "Cell" part to exclude the current cell
and so avoid getting a circular reference .
Further testing sho...

Just as a follow-up this is not an issue of restricted access mode.

POP3 Problem with Exchange 2000Hi folks
I am really hoping someone can help me out here
I am running a windows 2000 server with exchange 2000.
The server is partitioned as follows; C:\ 5.13GB, D:\ Exchange 49.2,
E:\ 49.7, 32.2GB unallocated. I had the AV originally on C:\ but moved
it to E:\ this morning. There is also a plug-in for exchange installed
as part of the AV suite.
Users can send ok, the problem is in receiving email. I looked at ESM
and in POP3 current connections it shows a list of users trying to send
email
If I reboot the server, everything is fine for a while and then the
problem recurs. There doesnt...
Multiple emails sent problemI have Outlook 2002 (latest updates), Mcafee, and
Earthlink satellite Directway service. When I send
attachments, the receiver receives 6-8 copies of the
message. Also, it takes forever to send a small file
(~300k) over my broadband connection. Eventually McAfee
complains that the same email being sent too much is most
likely a virus and I should stop sending the email. It's
not a virus, just some glitch somewhere. Recently I
changed from Norton to McAfee to see if that was the
problem - nope, also I got a new computer - still
happening. Any help would be great. Thanks.

functionality but it does not produce the results I am looking for. I
have tried changing the layout multiple ways to no avail. It will if I
do one pivot table for each but then I would need to merge all of the
individual Pivot Tables which I can not seem to do. What I want is

CDHtmlDialog and Javascript fire event problemHello,
I use javascript to populate listboxes in a dhtmldialog as the
selection in the first listbox fires an OnChange event, calling a

All this work quite fine, when choosing manually, but when updating
the listboxes from the program, the OnChange event doesn't occur. To
get my solution to work I need to be able to fire the OnChange event
from inside my program. And I can't figure out how to.

The strangest problem of Exchange 2000Hello all,
I was asked to look at a problem a client had with his Exchange 2000 Server
(standard SP3 on a windows 2000 server with Outlook installed).
The server had stopped last thursday, due to a lack of diskspace. After they
had moved some files the server was up and running. Friday afternoon they
had the same problem. They moved the pagefile from the C-drive to the
E-drive and rebooted the server. Now this sounds quiet standard, but the
following problem came forward.
In public folders people are no longer able to view the messages. All
messages before friday afternoon are able to ...
