[exchange 2000] Block spam address
Hi All, I have some addresses that receive spam every day, all the messages come from the same sender so I want to block the sender. I could do this on the client side but then an other user can get the messages so I would like to block the sender on the server side. I was wondering how to do that. I have searched on TechNet but the most there is about exchange 2003. Maybe you could help me, hope so !

Go into Exchange system manager, then global settings, right click on message delivery and choose properties, then click on the Sender Filtering tab. In there you can define sender filters either explicitly or by wildcard. Another more comprehensive spam blocking method is to use RBL's. On the Connection filtering tab, add in RBL service providers like dnsbl.sorbs.net or sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org. This will block known spam senders regardless of the sender. IMPORTANT: After you setup filtering, goto Administrative Groups, your AG, your server, protocols, SMTP, then right click on the SMTP virtual server and goto properties. toddhI did as you told. i.e. I have added dnsbl.sorbs.net in DNS suffix of connection filter. And enabled connetion filter in the smtp server advances properties. thing is under advance property, I have only one record " All unassigned" , TCP Port 25 with filter enabled. is it okay ? or IP address should be selected ? IF yes, I have 2 IPs ( 1 internal & anothor external ) which one I should select ? And also tell me.. can we have more than one filter. like 1.dnssbl.sorbs.net 2.sbl.spamhaus.org 3.spews.relays.osirusoft.com please help

Hi guys! I wonder if anyone can shed any light on why whenever I install the latest patches on my Exchange 2003 server, the OWA stops working and users receive a: SERVICE NOT WORKING message when going to the web page. Add/Remove programs and uninstall the latest security updates and it works again. Is this a common problem? Does anyone have any fixes? I don't want to put on SP2 until I work out why it is doing it. Exchange 2003 mailbox permissions being reset
I have seen many posts on this same problem with no real answer, hopefully somebody out there has found a solution. I add "send as" rights to a mailbox for a user other than the owner of the mailbox (or full access, make no difference) and it works fine for a short while, then when less than an hour goes by (not sure exactly how long), the user that was added in the permissions tab is missing and obviously the send as ability is gone. Hi everyone, I have a couple of problems on my Win 2k Server where Exchange 2000 is installed. I configured the computer as its own PDC and have DNS configured. I have a mixed mode Exchange site with 3 Exchange 2003 servers (SP2 running on w2k3 sp1) and one Exchange 5.5 server (sp4 & post sp4 rollup running on w2k sp4). I am trying to figure out how to block certain file extensions in Exchange 5.5. I see that MIMM is used to attach a certain file extension to html, text and so on. I have a shared (split) Access 2000 database without security. One of my users now has Access 2007 and gets an insufficient permissions error when she tries to use the data base. Since there is no mdw file, I cannot set up a pointer to it. How can I make it possible for the user to run the software? The PC is running Windows 7 Professional. Hi all, I am a newbie to Exchange. I am currently evaluating and testing Exchange 2003 for our office. I would like to know what is the recommended way of maintaining public & private contacts lists. What I would like to do is as follows:- 1. Maintain a public list of employees and their email addresses. 2. Allow each employee to also setup their own private list of Contacts and giving them the ability to only allow certain other users (maybe secretrary) have visibility. Hi Thanks for taking the time to read this. I recently migrated an Exchange 5.5 system to a new Windows 2003 Forest with Exchange 2003. All went very smoothly (Phew!) Missing Address Data
Using CRM V1.2, W2K, and the outlook client under XP SP2 with all the patches, a user can see all the accounts data while on-line, but when he switches to offline, not all the account data is present. The company name and a few others, some custom fields and some standard fields, but the address information is missing. If he goes back online, they are there, and when he goes back off line they disappear again. Outlook OLE error and freezing problem after Win2k SP2 install on Exchange??
Yesterday, we were hit by the blaster worm (yeah....got me running like hell). Our Exchange 5.5sp4 servers run on a Win2k Advanced Server SP1 cluster. I was forced to install service pack 2 for Win2k because the MS03-026 patch requires that. Ever since that, users who have Office 2000 versions less than SP-3 installed had freezing problems when viewing calender. Pulling up Excel attachments end up with a "object linking and embedding not found" error. There is also a Word error of some kind when openning Word attachments. Microsoft's web site states on the How To Buy exchange=20 page that "Each Exchange 2003 CAL also includes Microsoft=20 Office Outlook=AE 2003". I have also heard rumors that if=20 you already of Outlook 2003 (i.e. as part of having Office=20 2003 Enterprise), then you don't need an Exchange CAL for=20 that machine, similar to not need to have a Terminal=20 Services CAL if your fat-client is running Windows XP. =20 Has anybody else heard any such thing? Missing Address Data
Using CRM V1.2, W2K, and the outlook client under XP SP2 with all the patches, a user can see all the accounts data while on-line, but when he switches to offline, not all the account data is present. The company name and a few others, some custom fields and some standard fields, but the address information is missing. If he goes back online, they are there, and when he goes back off line they disappear again. Changing "Reply To" address has no effect...
Outlook 2000 - if I change the Reply To address for an email account it has no effect, the old Reply To address remains for all mail sent through that account. Any ideas? Exchange Standard 16gb size limit monitoring
I hit the 16gb limit the other day in my Exchange Standard installation. I figured out how to fix the problem (dismount and use ESutil), but I don't want to hit that size limitation again. Is there a free script or tool out there to notify me when the size hits 15gb? Where can I find out the size of the Storage group? Does Outlook 2003 include an Exchange Lic?
Wondering if you buy Outlook 2003 for $109.00, does that include a Lic for MS Exchange or do I need to purchase both for each user? The outlook license should be ok... but what version of Exchange? Outlook OLE error and freezing problem after Win2k SP2 install on Exchange??
Yesterday, we were hit by the blaster worm (yeah....got me running like hell). Our Exchange 5.5sp4 servers run on a Win2k Advanced Server SP1 cluster. I was forced to install service pack 2 for Win2k because the MS03-026 patch requires that. Ever since that, users who have Office 2000 versions less than SP-3 installed had freezing problems when viewing calender. Pulling up Excel attachments end up with a "object linking and embedding not found" error. There is also a Word error of some kind when openning Word attachments. Once I place SP3 on there, everything works fine. What ...
