Auto calculating not working

For the first time in 20 years of using Excel, I am finding that auto
calculation is not taking place whenever I add new entries to a range of
cells included in, for example, the SUM function. I only get the correct
results after invoking the function again. Even to calculate a fraction, the
correct answer is not automatically updated if the numerator or denominator
changes. Yesterday, I emailed the worksheet I was working on to my office
neighbour's computer and I was able to edit the sheet and get the updated
results automatically.

Could there be something wrong with the version on Excel 2007 on my PC?

Hi,

It sounds like it may be calculation has been changed to manual.

Office button - Excel Options - Formulas - Select "Automatic" - OK

If it is that and your wondering how, it's because Excel remembers the
calculation setting of the first workbook opened in a session and if that was
set to manual then the application is changed to manual.

Apple Mail not working right???
Ok, so I installed Office:Mac 2004, now all of a sudden, my Apple Mail (the Apple provided email application) dock icon no longer shows me how many messages I have waiting! VERY irritating!! Trace Dependents doesn't work (precedents does!)
I have 5 separate workbooks where the trace precedents works, but trace dependents doesn't. All the happens is I get a dialogue box saying that 'The Trace Dependents command found no formulas that refer to the active cell' when clearly there are. Obviously, there is something in common with all of them which is preventing it from working. What concerns me is that the sheets are somehow corrupt and are not calculating properly - which is going to be a problem as the sheets are financial and need to be signed off by an external auditor! Auto correct or Auto complete
We are all familiar witht he auto correct or auto complete functions found in MS applications. Of course that means it is available in Access also. My question is this ... can this function be replicated within the DB, so that the set of auto correct items are part of the package rather than something that would have to be set up on each individual desktop system? It's use, for me, would primarily be within a memo field where medical abreviations, used as a shortcut, would convert to the true meaning as the user types them in. Any way to get rid of an auto-suggestion in the login dialog box, for Exchange/OL using RPC over HTTP?
A client was using RPC over HTTP to two different Exchange servers (OL prompting for profile on startup). Both profiles were set up to prompt for credentials upon connection to Exchange. PivotTable: Customized Calculations

An auto reply to an auto reply!
Had the funniest situation yesterday. Somebody emailed a public folder we have set up. On there we have a rule to send a reply saying thanks for your email -someone will be with you shortly (we have to have this message on - it is for some website that recently went live).
