running excel 2000 under advanced server 2000 (intel p4 2ghz hp compa
evo pc) and having a problem with the text import wizard ;
trying to import a fixed column text report with three number column
that include negative values in the format 320.06-
problem is that they have to be imported as general type as there is n
number option in the import wizard which then means that excel appear
to treat the negative sign as text pushing the cell justification ove
to the left and if i try to create a cell which displays the sum o

I need to figure out how to format my text to include a set character length
for each field in a column. Additionally, if the text does not meet the
maximum length for the field, then I need leading zeros to make up the
difference beteen the number of characters in the text and the maximum
allowed for the field.
i.e. if I have a name such as Gray in the field and the field needs to be
exactly 13 characters then I need it to be 000000000Gray.
AFAIK this is not possible with formats. You either need a helper cell

I'm finishing up my book and I have a huge problem. I am using two columns
throughout my book, Line spacing 1.25 between lines, 3 after paragraphs,
Times New Roman 12pt and numerous photos.
The text in my two columns is not lining up left to right. So say, the text
in the left column is slightly higher than text in the right column. My
publisher says this has to be fixed, and now I'm wondering if I might have to
rework this in another program. Help!

I lost my train of thought and now I’m stuck. I’m trying to figure out a way
to insert rows dynamically. The logic is to look for this text: ‘Enter
non-listed privately held securities or groups of assets by asset class.’

I have a spreadsheet that has a column that contains both text and numbers.
ex 1, 100, 101, 100A, 111B, 1251 etc. How do I get this to sort where the
alpha letter that follows the # is in # sequence? 100, 100A, 101, 101A etc.
The #'s containing the alpha letters sort at the end. I have tried
formatting the cell, general, number and text and I'm still having problems.
You will have to insert a column and separate the text
from the number then sort.

I have prepare a publisher flyer which I will be sending out in a group
e-mail. The view of the flyer shows the text boxes as well as the text. How
can I delete the text boxes only and not the text. This is the first time I
am using publisher.
The text box boundary will not print unless you have put a border around it.
Have you looked at print preview?
Go to view, clear boundaries and guides, you will see how the flyer will look

I am using RichEditCtrl and all the associated select, format, replace for
adding text to the end of my rich edit box.
However, I have yet to figure out a definative way of making it scroll down
as far as needed (bottom of page if page length is greater than height), it
sometimes works, if the cursor position is right at the very end of the text
when the text is added programatically, but I need a way for when it is not.
Could anyone give me any tips?

category the scroll bar is gone and it only shows me the categories that fit
in that window. if i go into split and select the categories from within

select Window > Freeze Panes
If you want the first 4 line to also print on every page then select File >
Page Setup > Sheet > Rows to Repeat at top enter 1:4

tooltip show you what row you were on. In newer versions, the screen moved.
