You could use a macro:

  Public Sub ProtectAll()
Const PWORD As String = "drowssap"
    Dim wsSheet As Worksheet
    For Each wsSheet In ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets
      wsSheet.Protect PWORD
    Next wsSheet
  End Sub

You may use the ValidationRule and ValidationText of the field in the table design view. Setting ValidationRule to Len([YourField])>7) will raise an error in your case. mfG --> stefan <-- ...

Keep user passwords
Hi! We've just finished installing a new Exchange server and connecting it to a separate DC. We used to have everything on the same server but we'd like to be able to scale our solution better in the future - therefore the new setup. Users are primarily connecting to Exchange by means of RPC over HTTP from clients that are not part of our AD. The old setup allowed users to save passwords if they configured their clients to use NTLM authentication and followed the directions in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;820281. This worked both for RPC...

Can i create my own fomrula made up from several excel ones?

How to retrive password protected worksheet but forgot password?
I password protected an Excel spreadsheet and now can't remember the password. Is there any way that I can gain access to my worksheet? There are tons of FREE good Excel password 'cracking' tools. Excel Template
Hi We use an Excel worksheet for each day in which we fill in details of what contractors are assigned to what jobs. The trouble is that each time a job is changed, we have to open more than one worksheet to check/change the details (ie, each worksheet for each day is a separate Excel spreadsheet. I'm trying to put the worksheets together based on months rather than days ie a worksheet for each work day, in one file instead of lots. At the moment, I've just lumped each day's worksheet into one spreadsheet for each month, which is an improvement. Is it possible to have a macro or s...

exporting excel charts as eps files
I am wanting to know whether it is possible to export (or save) a microsoft excel chart or graph as a vector file (e.g. eps or emf file). Basically i am wanting to export an excel chart or graph as a vector-based file so that i can input it into a desktop publishing programme like Adobe Indesign. Simply doing a copy and paste from excel to InDesign only copies a screen-resolution image, which is, of course, useless. Most other graphing programmes have the option of exporting graphs as vector files, so i am hoping that excel is the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheer...

Spreadsheet password protection
How do you password protect a spreadsheet. I can't find anything in the help section. You can prevent un authorised access by giving a password to open the workbook itself, so that no one else can open it (Go to Tools, Options and then Security Tab). You can do it there if you have already saved the file, or you can go to "save as" then "Tools" and "General Options" where you can give password. On the other hand you can protect work sheets and ranges for different people by using "Tools" and then "Protection" Tab -- M Imran Buha...

Protection from copying
I have a workbook with hidden cells that I would like to protect (leaving certain cells visible for input). However, even with password protection on the entire workbook, a user can copy all of the cells into another workbook and view/edit/change all of the cells in my workbook. Is there a way around this? thanks Z, If it's formulas you want hidden, use Format - Cells - Protection - Hidden. Then protect the sheet (Tools - Protection - Protect sheet). If it's data, forget it. Users can copy/paste cells , copy the sheet, take a picture of the workbook with PrtScrn (or with ...

Import from Excel to Windows live outlook
How to import contacts from an Excel Spreadsheet to Windows live Outlook No such animal as "Windows live Outlook". Graphs from Excel into Adobe Illustrator
When I copy a a 3-d pie chart from Excel into Illustrator it has jagged edges. How can I fix this? I used to copy as picture in the previous version of Excel and this worked fine, I am now using the latest version of Excel. Excel 2007 has really disappointed me with its graphics rendering. I used to be able to copy a chart as a picture and paste it into PowerPoint, then ungroup the shapes and manipulate them as I pleased. In 2007, some items can no longer be ungrouped beyond a certain point (chart gridlines for example are now inseparable, taking the form of a transparent rectangle with...

EXCEL 2000 problem
I am having an intermittent problem with EXCEL 2000. Normally I can drag a formula across several columns and it will produce the correct answer for each column. Currently, when I drag the formula across, although the formula appears to be correct, the same total appears in every column, regardless of the content of the column. The total is the same as the column from where I dragged the formula. Also, if I change a column entry, the total will not update. This is causing some concern as I have to manully enter every formula and after I change an entry, I have to manuall repeat the ...
