You've probably set the R1C1 referencing style.

I used an excel file to import contacts into outlook.
Now everytime I open Excel, Excel opens to a file called
contacts, which is the file I used to import into
Outlook. The data is all garbled. What I want to do is
to eliminate this file from being opened and have Excel
open to a clean workbook called Book1.

Am running a sql server job schedule to run, which will send mail to
file attachment using msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail. The file attachment is just a
single file. its running fine now.

You may use the ValidationRule and ValidationText of the field in the
table design view. Setting ValidationRule to Len([YourField])>7) will
raise an error in your case.

I have several workbooks linked to one autofeed. Most of the workbooks are responding fine, but I have one workbook that significantly increases in size every time it's saved; even when we've not made any changes. when I am on Sheet2!A1 and I try to enter a formula such as =Sheet1!C4, I
find that I cannot point directly to Sheet1!C4; I need to go around and
around until I find the first cell in Sheet1 that will accept the cursor; and
then I can finally land on C4 by using the keyboard arrows. What causes that
and how can I prevent it?
Is the Sheet2 protected and some cells locked for selection?
Check out Tools>Protection. Is Unprotect Sheet available for selection?
