Macro to turn on "Track Changes" function

I'm trying to create a macro that turns on the "Track Changes" function with
a shortcut key. The problem is that while I'm recording the macro the
traditional way, the recording process stops when the "Track Changes"
function is turned on. Is there a way to overcome this problem or is the
"Track Changes" function not possible to put into a macro, even in Visual
Basic?

Track Changes
We have 2003 and our client uses 2007. We received a document from our client and did a redline. When we e-mailed the document back to our client they didn't see the redline. How can we resolve? If you did Track Changes on the document and didn't Accept/Reject them, then they must still be in the document, and your client may have disabled the feature that ensures that changes are made visible whenever they open a document containing changes. Your client must choose "Final Showing Markup" from the dropdown on the Review tab. (Apparently it now shows Final.) ...

Using latest ver of Mac Snow Leopard and MS Office. When tracking changes in a Word doc, is there a way to remove the time stamp but still retain the author of the change? How do I turn off Track Changes?
Windows 2000 and Outlook 2000 When I get emails from some people and try to forward them, but make some changes, every change shows up highlighted with my name next to it, even if I just add a comma or something. In Word this is called Track Changes, and under Tools, Options, I can turn it off. In Outlook 2000 I can't find where I can turn this off. It is turned off by default in Word. The reviewing toolbar lets you accept or reject changes but I just want to shut it off! Thanks, Mich "M Skabialka" said in news:uDK$Qdn6DHA.1368@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl: > Windows 2000 and...

Sending Doc with Track Changes
How do I send a document in Final form so that edits aren't visible, if I haven't yet accepted the changes? No matter how I save the doc (as final, with show markup options deselected) the edits are always visible. Kimberly That depends entirely on the settings of the receiving computer. But unless you've changed something way down in the Trust Center, you'll see the same behavior on your own computer -- when you open a file that was last saved as Final, it will open as Final Showing Markup. Track changes by multiple users in Word 2007
I have a document that I edited. It is then to be edited by two other people, then again by me. I want each person's edits to be in a different color, but this doesn't seem possible. when I go to track changes and change the color, it changes the color of all the edits. I saved the doc under a different name than the one with the original edits, but that doesn't make any difference. You need to set the color to "By Author." You can't control who gets what color (and this may appear different on different systems), but each user will have a distinctive on...

Can I track changes made to a shared file per userid.
I was wondering if I could track who made what changes in a shared excel file. If so, how should I go about it? Thank you in advance! Julie On that same Tools|Share Workbook dialog, there's an Advanced Tab. There's an option (default is On???) that allows you to track those changes. When you're ready to look at the changes, tools|track changes|accept or reject changes (You may already have it turned on.) But be aware that if you keep lots of changes, then excel can slow down. Find, page numbers, and Track Changes

Change Track Changes default options
Track Changes defaults to tracking format changes as well as substantive ones. Is there a way to change the default to not track format changes so it doesn't have to be changed each time I use Track Changes? Change the Track Changes content
I want to ask a question about Word 2007 track changes ... In word 2003 or word 2000, after using track changes, when the user put the mouse over those changes, a pop-up diaglog box will come up, which shows the "user name" and "amendment time" only .... But for Word 2007, the pop-up diaglog box shows "user name", "amendment time" and all the changed content. Our user thinks that the pop-up diaglog box showing all the changed content is very annoying. Is there any way not to show those changed content in the pop-up diaglog box ? Than...

Word 2007 track changes "final" v. "final showing markup"
When I am working in a document where track changes has been turned on, and I turn off the track changes, the document still opens in "final showing markup" instead of "final." I want the document to open in "final" form. Is there a way to do that? By default, any markup is always made visible when you open a document in Word. This is a privacy setting, so that you don't inadvertently send the file to someone else, forgetting about the markup. You can turn the setting off, but only for your machine (you can't control what others see if they...

Track Changes in 2007 deleting large portions of text
We have a document where 3 team members are making updates in revision marks. We are not updating at the same time. For some reason, huge chunks of text are getting deleted that were never actually deleted by any of us. It has happened to all 3 of us after we worked in the document. It is now the third or fourth time that I have had to go back and reject the changes for the sections deleted, and yes it does show my name or one of the other uses in the name of the person who made the changes. I can go in, reject all of the deleted sections, save the document, get out and get b...

Track Changes Hover balloon
We have several users that the Track Changes Hover balloon does not work for them. When editing docs with track changes whenever the cursor hovers on changed text there is a balloon that pops up and states the authors name. We have machines where this balloon does not pop up. Sometimes if you look really close it looks like it is there for a flash but it disappears right away. How can I make it so that this hover balloon is visible again? What can be causing this behavior? It is on more than on machine but not all of them so I am thinking it is some sort of setting. An...

Track changes in Opportunities in History??
We are getting ready to implement CRM(for the second time), and we want to make sure that we can track changes in an opportunity in the history. I figure that SQL tracks these changes, and we want a tab that will show us who made changes and when. Sounds like you need an audit log created for opportunity. You can use a postcallout to achieve it if you like to write code, otherwise there's 3rd party tool for audit log like c360.
