We have 2003 and our client uses 2007. We received a document from our
client and did a redline. When we e-mailed the document back to our client
they didn't see the redline. How can we resolve?
If you did Track Changes on the document and didn't Accept/Reject
them, then they must still be in the document, and your client may
have disabled the feature that ensures that changes are made visible
whenever they open a document containing changes.
Your client must choose "Final Showing Markup" from the dropdown on
the Review tab. (Apparently it now shows Final.)

Using latest ver of Mac Snow Leopard and MS Office.
When tracking changes in a Word doc, is there a way to remove the time

In Outlook 2000 I can't find where I can turn this off. It is turned off by
default in Word. The reviewing toolbar lets you accept or reject changes
but I just want to shut it off!

How do I send a document in Final form so that edits aren't visible, if I
haven't yet accepted the changes? No matter how I save the doc (as final,
with show markup options deselected) the edits are always visible.
That depends entirely on the settings of the receiving computer.
But unless you've changed something way down in the Trust Center,
you'll see the same behavior on your own computer -- when you open a
file that was last saved as Final, it will open as Final Showing

Does anyone know what I can do?
I can't think what you mean by "track changes window"? Do you maybe
have your changes in a panel instead of underlines & strikeouts within
Version of Word?

I have a document that I edited. It is then to be edited by two other people,
then again by me. I want each person's edits to be in a different color, but
this doesn't seem possible. when I go to track changes and change the color,
it changes the color of all the edits. I saved the doc under a different name
than the one with the original edits, but that doesn't make any difference.
You need to set the color to "By Author." You can't control who gets what
color (and this may appear different on different systems), but each user

On that same Tools|Share Workbook dialog, there's an Advanced Tab.
There's an option (default is On???) that allows you to track those changes.
When you're ready to look at the changes,
tools|track changes|accept or reject changes
(You may already have it turned on.)
But be aware that if you keep lots of changes, then excel can slow down.

I want to ask a question about Word 2007 track changes ...
In word 2003 or word 2000, after using track changes, when the user put the
mouse over those changes, a pop-up diaglog box will come up, which shows the
"user name" and "amendment time" only ....
But for Word 2007, the pop-up diaglog box shows "user name", "amendment

box showing all the changed content is very annoying.
Is there any way not to show those changed content in the pop-up diaglog box ?

By default, any markup is always made visible when you open a document in

causing this behavior? It is on more than on machine but not all of them so

I figure that SQL tracks these changes, and we want a tab that will show

Sounds like you need an audit log created for opportunity. You can use
a postcallout to achieve it if you like to write code, otherwise
there's 3rd party tool for audit log like c360.
