Dual Processors and Macro Speed

Hi,

I've just discovered this forum and I'm hoping that someone can hel
me!

I'm running a rather sizeable macro which generates a lot o
calculations.

I've already turned off screenupdating and optimised my code but it wa
still taking many hours to run.

I turned to new hardware to solve my problems........

I'm now running the macro on a dual 3.2ghz Xeon processor machine wit
4gb of RAM and XP professional.

It's about 20% quicker than my last machine which had a single pentiu
4 processor and 1 gb ram, but not the 200% quicker I had been promise
by our IT dept :(

Task manager shows that it's only using one processor, one is maxed ou
while the other is largely idle.

Is it possible to spread the load over both processors?

Alternatively, does anyone know is MS Access is able to run over dua
processors as I could tranfer my calculations over to that i
absolutely necessary......

Any help or advice would be greatfully received.

Cheers

John

signing macros how to
I created a certificate of authority so that I can run a macro with my high security settings. I would like to know to use the COA before I spend 20 minutes recording a macro. I'm not wild about giving all my users free reign on Macros for secturity reasons. Is there a way to enable/disable macros based on how Excel is opened? If they open it from Windows (double-click on icon, double-click on a spreadsheet, open from a web page, etc) have macros disabled but if it is opened from SAP have them enabled? Is there any way a macro can be created for various print area selections?

Currently we have to set up a print area to capture the information we want printed under columns A thru K everytime we go to print a BOM. Dual Boot Dilema
I have a computer with space for only two hard drives. It was originally built with Windows XP Pro (Disk 0). I added a drive (Disk 1) and loaded Vista Ultimate on it and I do a dual boot routine as needed. At this point, I'd like to install a new Disk 0 and build it as Windows 7 Pro. (I really wish I could upgrade my Vista Ultimate to Win7 Pro) I guess my question is this, if I put in a new Disk 0, boot to a DVD and build it to Win 7, what will happen to my Disk 1? Will Windows still recognize that there are two bootable drives and ask me which one to use? When I put a...
