Copying rows from one Excel spreadsheet to another

At my office, we use Excel 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1). I have a daily spreadsheet
that I maintain and add comments to one of the cells. At the end of the week,
I maintain a weekly spreadsheet in which I copy the rows in which I have
comments to the weekly spreadsheet. Sometimes, it allows me to also copy the
comments, and at other times, it does not, and then I have to re-add them.
Can you come up with a reason and a solution?

What do you mean by "allows me"?
If you do a regular copy as in ctrl + C it will copy everything,
if you only want to copy comments, copy and when pasting do edit>paste special
and select comments.

that will work with excel 2000

Spreadsheet query #2
I have devised a list of items in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Against each item (in a different cell) is an amount which represtents the items value. I want to be able to use this spreadsheet, so that I can extract, say, all items under 6,000. Is this possible in Excel, or should I be using a database? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Michael. Hello Michael Advanced Filter is one way, Pivot Table is an other way. To my opinion, use of a database would be advisable if records exceed around 10000 items. We're on a Windows 2000 domain where the users' home directory has been redirected using this syntax: \\fqdn.xxx\dfs root\sharename\%username%. The DFS root server is a member file server that holds the majority of the network shares (including the user profiles and home folders). The DFS root is registered in our AD. Here's the problem: Occasionally someone will try to open an Excel file on a share via a DFS link and will get an error message stati...
