I have a table with three columns:
Name Date Action
Fred Today this
Fred Today this
Fred Today that
Wilma Today this
I want to sort by name and by date, but only if 'this' was done more
than once on the same day, and not if 'that' was done on the same
day,They have to perform this more than once, and they cannot have
performed that on the same day.
If not in excel, mssql maybe?

Array-entered, meaning press ctrl-shift-enter.
But you could also just change your current formula to:

Our accounting department needs/wants to have all RMS SO reporting by
business date opposed to transaction date. Usually these are the same unless
you have sales and batches that close after midnight. For our store I would
like to set 3 a.m. as the business day closing time. So when I run any type
of reports I would like to get the information for a business date (range)
starting at 3 a.m. till 3 a.m. the next day.
I guess I could accomplish this by subtracting 3 hours from all the
transaction (date and) times but I would have to do this for every single

If your list is "fixed" could you not just create a list
in a worksheet and use Data > Validation > Allow > List
(Select your list range).
It produces a drop-down list similar to your combo-box
and the user can't change any entries.

I had to prepare some post dated checks and we did not have fiscal periods
set up yet to match the dates of the checks. Currently the check batches are
waiting to be posted. What is the best way to handle post dated checks? If I
create new fiscal years to match these dates, I will end up having 4 Open
years. Is this the only way to do it?

Sorry for the lack of knowledge. I have some spreadsheets which pull data
from sql database thru an ODBC connection. Since upgrading to 2007, when I
"Edit query" on some of these spreadsheets, it starts to connect then I get a
warning saying that it is changing to database context XXX. The database it
is changing to is the one I want but the warning I get only lets me click on
OK, but the query window does not open. I have seen some documents that this
say this is just a warning but when it is reported, it stops the script from

We have offices in different locations and want to assign a color for
each office. We can then add items to a shared calendar with the color
assigned for that office so we all know what office is doing what on any

1) Is there a way to assign colors to people as a default and then
have that color show automatically as they post items to this shared

sent. I find this visually annoying. Each emailalready has the time and day

I think you are talking about OL 2003 & the Arrange in Groups setting. Change
it in View, Arrange by, uncheck Show in Groups.

I downloaded some data on excel using Bloomberg. One column has dates
and the other has numbers. Dates appear as 01/01/1980 format which I
want in Jan-80 format. I have changed the format cell properties but it
still appears as 01/01/1980. I have to goto individual cell and press
F2 <enter> so see the effect. Dont know why? I cant even copy paste
format after that ....
I am not sure, but is your workbook set to Auto-Recalculate?

I have data in a table which I imported from a Survey Monkey excel file. I
have begun to create a report (in design view) using the fields from this
table. My problem is I don't know how to separate (or group) the fields by
category based on the data I have in the table. Each question in the survey
is one of the fields in the Access table. Unfortunately, there is no way to
tell what fields belong to which category based on the data in the table.
The survey had 37 questions which were grouped by category:
Professionalism - 6 questions
Quality of Work - 10 questions

I would like to look through all the emails to a particular person. If I
click on the "To" column I can see all the emails to a particular person
(actually there is a problem with that which I will mention next) but they
seem to be in random order. Is there a way to have them sorted by date?
(i.e. by name first, then by date).
Actually, sorting on the "To" column does not get all the emails sent to a

and my data series is the sales by month. I have figures for Jan Feb Mar and
Apr but since May - Dec are at $0 my chart currently shows a straight line
down from Apr to May.
Is it possible to stop the line at April yet keep the axis showing Jan - Dec?

There is an Access table on the network. 15 users who do not have Access are
connected to the network. Is there a way for each user to be able to enter one
or more rows containing 3 or 4 columns to Excel on his machine and then press a
button or something and append that data to the Access table on the network?
Also would need to delete the data from the worksheet after the append. How
would I prevent more than one user from appending data at the same time? Any
suggestions on what the code would be?

When I try to join the contents of several cells, one of which is a date and
time obtained from =now(), the date and time part appears as a number. How
