Secondary Axis Values Disappear

Office 2003

When I elect to "show data table" my secondary axis values disapper. As soon
as I uncheck "show data table" in chart options, the axis values reappears.
Can't I have both (secondary axis values AND data table)?

TIA,

Karen

Hi Karen,

Excel's chart data tables have many limitations. It depends what type of
chart you have. Some types won't let you have a data table at all, some only
for data on one axis. Some, like a column chart, will let you have a data
table even if you have both primarty and secondary axes. If you have a
combination chart, well, forget it!
They also have very limited formatting and editing options.
The best way is to build your own data table in the cells below the chart,
and make it appear as though the two are connected.

Or not. One can take OCD to the extreme when it's really unnecessary.

If you need a data table, maybe you don't need the chart?

limit range to unique values
I am looking for a way to limit a named range to unique values. So that if a value is entered that already exists in the range the value that already exists would become empty and the new location would hold the unique value. I got something sort of working with the selection change event but it took too long to cycle through each cell in the range to make sure it did not equal the target value. was not pretty. The range is only like 50 cells. I am looking for advise on how to make it work. Thanks Include your efforts to date If desired, send your file to my address be...

Secondary protection of Hyper-V VMs possible?
We have built a secondary DPM server to be able to backup our protection groups off site. This is working fine for all but the protected Hyper-V machines on the primary server. When I select the primary server, I don't get an option to protect those machines. Is this a bug, or a known feature limitation of DPM? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Probably you're missing some required hyper-v hotfixes, I can back them up fine from my secondary. "Caillin" wrote: > We have built a secondary DPM server to be able to backup our protection > g...

Payees in Pay To disappearing
I am using Money 2006 Deluxe. It has worked fine until now. All of a sudden as I am entering a Payee into the Account Register, the payee disappears from the Pay To drop down list. I have a few payees that have somewhat similar names, ie: Bank of America, Bank of America Visa, ect. If I input a payment to Bank of America, it disappears from my dropdown list. When I go to input a payment to them again, it will only allow me to put in the next Bank of America setting. I have to tab off, then go back to the pay to box and delete what I don't want for it to work. This is becoming...

Help needed with multi y-axis chart
All, I have created a combination chart which use bars to show company financials and a line to show unit sales. During the early part of the company's history, certain financial values are less than zero, thus the minimum value for the primary y-axis scale is less than zero. The problem is this - Excel aligns the minimum values of both y-axis scales, thus zero units is aligned with negative dollars. This is confusing to the viewer. My question is this: Other than manually tweaking the scale for the number of units sold, is there an automatic means for having zero be aligned on both sca...

Show image for specific record on report based on yes/no value
Hi, We have a product database which has several yes/no categories for each record, I would like to be able to show an image on the report based on which yes/no boxes are ticked. So, we have a list of plants in our database that have yes/no columns named "Sun", "Shade" or "Semi-Shade" (depending on what aspect they like) I have a different image for each option (named the same .jpg) and I would like the relevant image to show up on the report for each record if it is true, so the report is easier to scan with images rather than text. Y axis #4
If I have a chart that i want to switch the left values and scales on the Y axis with the one on the right is there an easy way to do this? To swap primary and secondary Y axes, you need to have both primary and secondary X axes, at least temporarily. Format the scale of each horizontal axis, checking Value Y Axis Crosses at Maximum for one, unchecking it for the other. Then if you needed to add it, remove the secondary category axis. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "TX...

Secondary subtotals

I created the secondary subtotal just like the first one except at each change in City, and I told it not to replace subtotals. It doesn't look right. Does any of this make sense? Primary and secondary Y-axis with same 0 line
The minimums and maximums of the data shown are likely to be very different; however I would like them to have the same 0 line. Data in secondary axis dizappears when using names
