How to align the category axis to plot area

I'm trying to align my category axis of my chart to the bottom of my plot
area. I have some negative data and it's moving the date (category axis) into
the data of the plot area.

Hope this make sense. Thanks!!

Format the axis and specify where you want it to cross the y-axis.

The simplest thing to do is use the macro recorder whilst you apply the
settings.

     ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).Select
         .MajorTickMark = xlOutside
         .MinorTickMark = xlNone
         .TickLabelPosition = xlLow ' < this line does it
     End With

Thanks Andy....

However I get a runtime error 438... Object doesn't support this property or
method.

I have some existing code that I was attempting to insert this into to clean
up the data results..... here's the snippet....
FYI.. the added portion was added after I ran it sans addition with same 438
error...

Selection.Position = xlBottom
    ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).Select
    Selection.TickLabels.NumberFormat = "mm/dd"
    With Selection.TickLabels
        .Alignment = xlCenter
        .Offset = 100
        .ReadingOrder = xlContext
        .Orientation = xlUpward
    End With
    ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).Select 'just added 11-3-06
    With Selection.TickLabels <---- I added this from your code posted earlier
         .MajorTickMark = xlOutside
         .MinorTickMark = xlNone
         .TickLabelPosition = xlLow ' < this line does it
     End With
    ActiveChart.ChartTitle.Select
    Selection.AutoScaleFont = True

The best thing would be for YOU to record the code. Then you can
incorporate that into the routine.

Regrouping large lists into areas based on zip codes
I receive lists of about 200 addresses covering about 40 zip codes. I have to separate and re-group this list into 7 areas based on zip codes (which aren't serial, of course). I've considered using IF.THEN..ELSE formulas, but fear that would be too complex. Does anybody have any simple, elegant solution? Thanx We'd need to know what your 7 classifications are. Assuming, for instance, that the seven classes are based on the first 3 characters in the zip code and assuming the zip code is in a cell by itself, you could use a MID() or LEFT() function to derive just those fi...

Surpressing plot of blank cells
I'm creating a line chart plot using Excel 2007. The data range for plot lines contains some blank cells. These blank cells get plotted as zero points. How do I change this behavior to plot only points that have values and to leave the blank cells unplotted? I appreciate your help, -John Hi, If they are truly blank then check the plot empty cells setting via. Select Data > Hidden and Empty cells. Memo and Category Description
Versions later (using ver. 2004) it still bugs me that when you have one (1) Category you can't have both--a Memo AND a Category Description. For instance, when I use the ATM and split the transaction I can add a unique Description for each Category in the split, AS WELL AS a unique Memo field (that I use to indicate either the name or address of the ATM)....But, when I only have one (1) Category either the Memo field overrides the Category Description or the Category Description overrides the Memo field. I can't imagine why they don't remain different fields for different purposes...

Excel will not allow me to change alignment
I have a worksheet in which Excel does not allow me to change the alignment of a range of cells from, say, left-justified to centered. I am experienced with Excel/VBA and have not seen this before. The cells are not protected and do contain numerical data. If I add a leading apostrophe to the cell values to have them treated as strings, I can then align the cells however I like. When those cells contain numerical data, Excel will not allow me to change the alignment from left-justified, regardless of whether I use a toolbar, the Format tab, or VBA. Four-up postcards not aligned right
I'm using Publisher 2003 to print postcards four to a page. They are "off" by about 1/4 inch to the left. This isn't awful for the two postcards on the left side of the page, but the two on the right side of the page are unusable. How do I fix this problem? I used Publisher's postcard format, 4.25" by 5.5". Different Master Category Lists?
