Scatter Chart data
I have several spreadsheets that contain several workbooks each. Each workbook has multiple charts (xy scatter) plotting test results (y-axis) vs date tested (x-axis). Typically the test results are numbers, however, when testing is not conducted the analyst enters an asterisk (*). The asterisk is given a value of zero in the chart so I have to go to the source data and set it to exclude the data containing the asterisk - it works but is very time consuming! To get around this I have shaded the cells that are not tested and deleted the asterisk, changed the way Excel handles empty cells from ...

I have two columns of data A B 1 100 2 90 3 110 10 132 20 150 25 152 I used scatter plot to plot column B as Y value and column A as the X value. The plot itself looks fine. One Column on 1st y-axis and 3 lines on 2nd y-axis
Hello, On Excel 2003 I am using the custom chart "Line-Column on 2 Axes". I would like one column (series 1) for the first y-axis and 3 lines (series 2-4) for the 2nd y axis. It seems that when adding series, that 2 columns are automatically created when you exceed 2 series. Every seried added after the second series results in lines for the 2nd y axis. If I delete one of the first 2 series (columns) then the next series which is a line is automatically converted to a column. My desired end result is to have only one column on the 1st y axis and the 3 lines on the 2nd ...

how do i plot a graph that has more than 2 axis

Here's how to get all axes you're entitled to. Usually when you tell Excel to plot a series on the secondary axis, all it does is add a secondary Y axis. To get a secondary X axis, choose Chart Options from the Chart menu, and on the Axes t...

3-D Frequency Chart in VBA
I currently have a frequency chart (3-D Column Chart) that reports the frequency of an item within a range and also in what distance that range appears. I wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to automate this task. Time Series Chart Data Plot Line ''Disappears'' When Y Axis Formating Is Changed
SITUATION: I've never used Exel for chart-creation. This question probably makes that all too obvious. Using Exel 2002's chart wizard, I was able to generate a time-series chart which displayed my data. However, on the resulting chart, the Y Axis displayed the years generically (1-30). I wanted this axis to display the years specific to the dates involved (e.g. 1920-1947). I right-clicked on the Y Axis and choose <Format Axis>, followed by the Scale Tab. There I set "Minimum:" to the starting data of my time series, "Maximum:" to the ending date. All ot...

Can I make different colour gridlines in a single chart in Excel?
One particular horizontal gridline in my Excel chart marks a significant limit. This gridline should be highlighted. The gridlines above and below this can remain black. Dual Boot Dilema

I added a drive (Disk 1) and loaded Vista Ultimate on it and I do a dual boot routine as needed. At this point, I'd like to install a new Disk 0 and build it as Windows 7 Pro. (I really wish I could upgrade my Vista Ultimate to Win7 Pro) I guess my question is this, if I put in a new Disk 0, boot to a DVD and build it to Win 7, what will happen to my Disk 1? Will Windows still recognize that there are two bootable drives and ask me which one to use? When I put a...

Update Progress Bar: What about crashes?!

changing the location of the x axis labels
Hello, I'm trying to make column graphs by using excel 2002. The problem is, my y axis values have some negative numbers, so the x axis labels overlap with some of the columns. Time in on the X Axis
I am trying to plot events on a time abscissa. I would like to have the major gridlines at even times, such as 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM etc. My data, however, occasionally falls in between these times, i.e., 8:05 AM, 9:17 Am, etc. When these points are plotted (correctly), an extra vertical gridline appears automatically at the correct data time. My problem is I don't want that data point gridline to appear. Is there any way I can opt not to get the extra line?? Thx Dave ...

Bar Chart Date XAxis Thin Bars
I have a bar chart with dates on the xaxis being resorted (primary axis = automatic). There are 26 entries over a one year period. The trouble is the bars come out as vertical lines, I can't set the xaxis format so that they have any thickness. If I set the chart to not sort the xaxis then the bars are okay. Your axis is set so the base unit is days. Each bar must then fit within a band 1/365th the width of the chart.
