Need help pulling attribute using alternate name

I pull down an XML feed from a vendor every day and don't have any problem =
pulling most of the attributes. However, they do have a few with funky name=
s that give me fits.=20

Consider the code below. The last attribute defined is name=3D"c86". I can =
use Xml.Linq.XDocument.Parse to pull this into an XDocument (I call PersonR=
ec) and access it using PersonRec.@c86. But what I'd really like to be able=
to do is pull the data using the rs:name=3D'Preferred Name'. But obviously=
, PersonRec.@Preferred Name isn't going to work.

Options?

Hello all, I am obviously a new user to excel. I have a psychological assessmen that needs to be computerised for ease of use in obtaining results. Here is what i would like to happen. Then based on that number, give out a prewritten (which i would provide result of the assessment. ...

Graph
Hi, Here is the problem - There is a graph I have to create, based on the following information: I have projects names, and each project has the following data: 1. Estimated cost. 2. Actual cost. 3.Status, which can be one of 3: a. over with b. in progress c. per demand I need to put the data on a 3D column graph, in a way that each project will have 2 columns that compare estimated and actual cost, but the problem is I also need to put some kind of an attribute on every project which reflects its status. How do I do that? Thanks in advance, Chen. Chen - I'd suggest a 2D chart type in...

It's back! Opened Excel this morning and have no recently used files listed under FILE. This happens randomly and only affects Excel not Word. No maintenance preformed. No reboot. It was there when computer went into "drive off & monitor off" mode last night and no files listed today, its starting a new list. Excel 2000 on XP machine "suits my needs so don't suggest newer version please" Its aggravating, any thoughts on cause please SG On thought would be if you run programs such as AdAware when it is done, don't check the MRU list "fix" W...

What are .ifs files used for Exchange 2003?
I am running Exchange 2003 SP1 Enterprise with the default install. So drive m should be disabled. Though I notice .ifs files popping up in the directory where the mailbox store is. The research that I found it that Exchange uses these files as temp files and the SA removes them when they are done. But I don't know how acurate the research is that I found. Does anyone know if this is normal operation for Exchange 2003? What does Exchange 2003 use .ifs files for? I have notice that one particualar .ifs file has not been removed for over a day. Thanks... Do I have to use Conditional Formatting or a Macro?
Hi All, I have a table like this: Value1 Value2 Value3 aq x 3 aa y 5 The cells under 'Value2' already have a ConditionalFormatting (with 3 conditions) to change the background color. I'd like to know if it's possible to apply a format (ie just border) to the entire row, and copy the ConditionalFormatting regarding the 'Value2' column, as soon as I insert a new record in 'Value1'. That is, when cells under 'Value' are not blank, then the row will have a border, and cell under 'Value2' has ConditionalFormatting...

Excel newbie needs help from math wiz (poker related)
I want to create a Excel workbook that will help in specific poker situations. Short version: I want to be able to calculate how often my opponent will need to fold for an all-in raise to show a positive expectation. Explanation: In poker you can win a hand by having the best hand at the end OR getting your opponent to fold. A common situation comes up where you have a "drawing hand" and face a bet by your opponent. In this situation you know you are currently behind in the hand, but have a chance to win if you catch some of your "outs" (cards that will give you th...

Link to a cell in another workbook by name rather than absolute c.
I need to get data from a total cell in one worksheet into a cell in another worksheet. Because the source worksheet will have lines added to it, I wanted to reference the cell by its row and column label (e.g. "Jan Sales"), rather than by an absolute cell reference. I tried several variations and keep getting the #REF and #NAME errors. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks. Name the actual cell and then reference the cell's name. -- Cutter ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cutter's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/membe...

Need to test a mobo
I had a power surge about 3 weeks ago - lost a drive, now making ticking noises. I had another two drive that seem to work sporadically now. So, I thought it might have been my power supply. Bought a tester and found out that all seems well. Next, I bought a new hard drive and found that it was also acting up - making noises like whirring up and down (like the other drives I thought were dead). So I am starting to wonder if it is my mobo - but how can I test this out? I am using a dual boot - Win XP and Win 7 - both drives work and don't work. Up and down. Right now my Win7 ...

I have an Excel worksheet which stored a survey outcome of over 1200 members. There are over 30 questions in the survey and the first column captured the member ID. As a result I created addittional columns depending on the total number of the answers available for that question and assign the result manually to that column. It is very time consuming ...

Database backup whilst the POS is in use
I currently do my daily database backup during the night using a scheduled Windows task. The backup is copied to multiple hard disks on different PCs. I would like to do additional backups during the day whilst the POS is being used. Does RMS SO actually allow this or would I have to briefly shutdown the POS for the backup? I am on V2, SP2. Thanks for your reply. Yes, you can run backups while POS is running. You can even run backups when multiple manager programs are running. SQL server is built to handle many different concurrent connections. As another option, you can also use the c...
