Prevent Chart from automatically updating references
I have a chart embedded in a worksheet. The chart references data on another worksheet. This workbook is large, with lots of formulas. Whenever I change a cell value anywhere in the workbook, the chart attempts to update itsself -- a blue bar appears in the bottom left corner of the monitor showing the chart is trying update its references. Is there anyway I can prevent this chart from trying to automatically update itself? vba solution is fine. I guess I'm looking for a way to turn on and off recalculation of a chart. Click on Tools, Options, Calculation, Manual. The downsid...

Access 2003 Security Message On Open
All, I have approximately 15 databases that I am about to migrate to Access 2003 from 2000. I do not want the security message to appear every time one of my users logs on to the database. Registry changes and digital signatures are out of the question. If I put Application.AutomationSecurity = msoAutomationSecurityLow on open of my start up form will this prevent the warning message? Is there something I can put in the windows shortcut to turn this off? I have seen some suggestions were it is mentioned to call a script that calls the database to open in low security mode. Is this nec...

Another Week and no updates or info about updates
Well another week is about to go by and it looks like we will have another week with no updates, no upgrades, no integration and no information. What a ripoff. Why do you all even bother with giving suggestions? Microsoft appears to not be listening. If they were, they would have given us all something, by now, even if it was just info. Mark, If you have read this ng this week, it was announced that 1.3 would be released next month. Look in the Nov. 15th issue of Insights. It should have a link to the Nov. 17th webinar that describes the updates. http://www.microsoft.com/Busi...

UPDATE PRICES ONLINE #2
I have been MS Money for several years. My most recent version was Money 2003. I noticed on my homepage that I hadn't gotten updates since 09/03, so I got the updates. Now, in my Portfolio, when I click on Update Prices, the Update Online option is gone. All that is there is Update Manually. I searched on all of the Help links and couldn't find anything on the subject, so I bought Money 2004. I installed it and all my info was there, but still the Update Prices Online wasn't an available option. Does anyone know why this option disappeared for me? In microsoft.pub...

Money 2003 not updating
About a week ago I could not get Money 2003 to update. When I click on Update Now the program hangs and I have to end the task. I have tried updating only my bank info, only portfolio and only money, but it hangs no matter what options I check. I reinstall Money and it still hangs on any update. After some research I tried a few other things. I updated the portfolio manager and even removed an IE update that might be conflicting. My anti-virus software was off during all of these processes. I'm about out of options... Any thoughts? Do you have the standard or the deluxe and if the ...

Can you link many workbooks to one template? And Update?
I tack around 100 different workbooks. All are the same "template"; however, I often update the formulas and therefore must go back to each workbook and update them formulas. Is there a way to link all of the workbooks to a "template" to calculate the formulas? And can I change the one template formula so all the workbooks are updated at once? ...

Security Access Documentation
I want to create a list that shows user access on GP. I know there is a report I can run to get this ifnormation, but it is showing those things the user has access and those things the user don't have any access (more than 300 pages). I have been looking for documentation on this issue, but the information is very limited. Is there a way or some place I can learn more about this? Thanks in advance! The current security implementation in Great Plains is a deny based system. This means that there are records stored for any resource that a user is denied access to or has access gran...

Filter data from one collum by looking up from another column
Hi, I am stuck on the following problem: I want to exclude names (or give them another color) from 1 column if they are also in another column. To illustrate this, the result from the following data: A B 1 John Peter 2 Sue Floyd 3 Peter Dan 4 Mike Chris would have to be: John Sue Mike Or in this case I could use a conditional formatting to paint A3 red. How do I do this? Try something like this: Using your posted example: Select A1:A4, with A1 as the active cell From the Excel main menu: <format><conditional formatting> Formula is: =COUNTIF($A$1:$B1,A1)>1 Click the...

Cascade Updates ?
Is there any performance-related/technical reason not to just enable this on all relationships unless there's an explicit reason not to? -- PeteCresswell If you are joining tables with natural primary keys (i.e. the key data has meaning such as a name), cascade update can save you a lot of grief if, for example, someone changes their name. Now if you use artifical primary keys, such as an autonumber with no "meaning", there really isn't a reason to use cascade update as you should never have to change the primary key data in the parent table. BTW: I almost always user...

Excel crashing randomly after most recent Office update
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC Hello! <br><br>I've recently encountered a problem with Excel (Office 2008) in which it will crash randomly. And by &quot;randomly,&quot; I do mean totally random cannot narrow down 1 or 2 things that trigger the crash. Of importance though, is that this has only been happening after installing the most recent software update from MS (within the last week). <br><br>I'm a graphic designer and I use Excel mostly for my project logs. Updating Problem with Large Excel File
Dear ALL, I am currently working on a excel workbook which has reached 284 sheets and is approx. 34MB in size. The problem I am having is that sheets which have formulas between them are not always updating. I Have the automatic calculation settings o.k etc so i do not think it is that. If i eneter a new formula that formula works but to get old formulas to work I need to refresh the data i.e. copy paste the formula again for the old formulas to update any changes from new data entered. This creates a problem of that I can not trust the data derived from the workbook as it would take...

Uninstall Issue
Hi Hope someone can help with this. We have 2 exchange servers in our domain. 1 old 2000 box and 1 new 2003. I have performed the migration from 2000 to 2003 successfully and have been happily sending mails for a fortnight with the old box powered down. I am now looking to rebuild the old 2000 for other purposes and want to uninstall 2000 as recommended. As far as I can see I have transferred all tasks across. All public folders, assigned the new 2003 as routing master, changed recipient update services ETC. When I come to uninstall the 2000 I get the message that there are still mail-enabl...
