Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 causes CRM "Send Direct Email" Error.
When sending a direct email, you receive a message: "You do not have
sufficient access rights or privilages to perform this action"
It occurs during the following steps.
Click Sales, click Leads, and then click to highlight a lead record.
On the menu bar, click Actions, and then click Send Direct E-mail.
Leave the default options, and then click Send.
There is a hot fix from that your VAR can download and send to you.
A responsible server tech should apply this patch and do the needed backups
prior to applying the hotfix.

Value: Select the Account/s
Then click on Go button. Select all the record. Click in Action / Sent

I am using CRM 3.0. I am ultimately trying to find a way in Outlook to
create an emailing group off of a list of CRM contacts to email that
group of contacts. One alternative I found is to email said group from
within CRM. As I investigated that, I learnt about the "send direct
email" functionality from a contacts' view. This can be a view
generated from Advanced Find then you click Actions --> Send Direct
Email or something like that.
However, I cannot find that functionality and don't know how to access

When an undeliverable email is sent through the Send Direct Email

I have installed the CRM for Outlook client on a number of user's machines.
For some reason, the buttons to send direct emails from contacts / accounts
pages does not appear for a few users. I have painstakingly checked as many
options etc. that I can find to see where any rights are different, but they
all seem to have the same rights.
Does anyone know if there are any specific rights / settings in CRM or
Outlook that will allow a user to use these buttons?

I have a user that used to belong to root business unit and now I moved him
to another child BU, after doing so he is not able to send direct email to
any object . once he tries to send direct email , the templates list is empty.
Any idea why. this problem is happening to most of the users if I moved any
of them to lower BU.

available when using CRM from a browser, and not from

an email template, I choose send and nothing happens. No emails go out and
nothing is stored in history. There is no error message.
Can you find out whether the CrmBulkMailService is running on the server. To
find out click on Start->Administrative tools->Services. In the services
snapin find out whether CrmBulkMailService is started.

crm user account that the template would recogzine that and then pull the
user information into the email template of the user that the email is being

In V3.0 it is nice that now we are able to attach a document to to a
workflow email. This doesn't not work however when you want to send a direct
email to a group of Customers. We still cannot send a direct email using an
email template AND attach a document.
Does anyone have any new workarounds for this or is it still just create a
webpage for the attachment and include the link in the email template?
In addition, does anybody know of possible workarounds to multiple

i was unable to send direct emails through the CRM, i ran a repair and found
several errors so i installed everything from scratch on a clean system.
Still i cannot send direct emails from My Workplace in CRM. But i can send
emails through the outlook on the client pc.
