Unlinking tracked emails in CRM 3.0

I find that once an email is linked to/tracked by CRM (Customer, Client,
Activity) it can't be unlinked! only deleted.

For example; A client uses an old CRM generated email containing the
tracking token to ask about a new problem. CRM automatically tracks the new
email to the old CRM case and I can't untrack it to link it to a new case.
Any information would be helpful...

A simple way which may be useful for you, would be to forward the already
tracked e-mail to yourself, and before clicking the Send button, select the
Customer/Client/Activity you want the e-mail to be linked to.

Outlook 2003 Newsreader #3
I upgraded from Office 2000 Pro to 2003 Pro and all was working well, including being able to read Newsgroups by clicking on the News Item on the toolbar. I opened Outlook today and there is no longer a News Item on the toolbar. I tried to add it exactly like I did the first time but it is not where the Help said it should be. It was there the other day when I first set it up and added it to the Toolbar but its gone now. Any help would be appreciated. Office won't open #3
I have just installed Office 2004 after upgrading to OS 10.3. But I can't use any of the programs. I get a message along the lines of *an error was encountered* every time I try to open Word - or anything else. I've re-installed Office several different ways - the whole thing via the Setup Assistant, a customized installation and just dragging the folder to my hard drive. Doesn't work no matter what I do! What else can I try so I can get back to work sometime soon? Thanks, Cindy Take a look here (hit refresh a few times in Safari, or switch to Firefox, OmniWeb, Opera, etc): ...

Using Windows Service and CRM
Happy Holidays, All! This isn't covered in the SDK, that I can see, but we have a service running that needs to query the CRM database (using the SDK) - but it is running on an application server out side of CRM. We can do this with impersonation, using an existing user in CRM - but the password needs to be hardcoded that way - making it necessary to revisit the applicatin every 90 days... Any other thoughts on how to run a windows service against CRM? Thanks! Kristina Kristina, Ideally (and technically, legally), the service sould have it's own ID. What we've done though i...

Custom CRM Field Types

unlink a table without deleting it
I have a lot of queries that use a linked table. The need for this table to be linked is not necessary anymore. Is there a way to break the link without deleting the table? In the database from which you have linked to the table, the database window will show the linked table along with other tables, except it will have an arrow next to the name. Select the table and delete it. Access will ask you if you want to delete the link, and will state that you are not removing the table itself. To do that you would need to go to the database in which the table resides. "toolman"...
