Unattended installation of offline-enabled CRM 3.0 client for Outl

Hi!

I am having a lot of troubles performing an unattended installation of the
Microsoft CRM laptop client for Microsoft Office Outlook (offline-enabled).
I have searched through all deployment forums, without result.
Is there any whitepapers on this subject or do you guys have any information
regarding this subject.

I have 160 laptop clients that i need to deploy this application to :-(

I have read the "Microsoft_CRM_3.0.5_Implementaton_guide" but it only
describes how to perform an unattended installation of the online client by
creating an XML config file.

Hi Henrik,

Other than the MOC, I'm not sure where specifically these instructions would
be posted, but here are the basic steps:

1. Determine to what OU in AD you want to deploy your group policies to.
Perhaps you could create a group for Online AND Offline clients to
compartmentalize your installations.
2. Create a shared folder on the server that all target clients have access
to.
3. Insert your Server CD into CRM Server.
4. Browse to d:
5. Type msiexec.exe /a client.msi /quiet (hit enter)
6. Answer user input questions, and point to your previously created client
shared folder, you now have an administrative image of the laptop client.
7. Go into AD and right click on the OU to apply group policy changes to and
select properties>Group Policy.
8. You may not have anything in the window you're looking at if you created
a CRM OU, so click on "Add," select "New" and give your group policy a name.
9. Click on Edit, and you have either a computer or user installation.
Computer triggers when the computer boots regardless of who logs in, and user
affects only those users on that OU you're editing, you may select user here.
10. Expand software settings, right click on "Software Installation" and
select New Package, point to your shared client files created in step 2.
11. right click, goto properties, select deployment and make sure "Install
this Application at logon" is checked.

Hope this helps...

SQL Server 2000 Report Pack for Microsoft CRM 1.2
Hi, I have a single server deployment of Microsoft CRM 1.2 in Small Business Server 2003. Where would I install the SQL Server 200 Report Pack for MS CRM? Is it in my current installation server (SBS 2003) or in a different workstation just like in the setup for Crystal Reports, wherein Crystal Reports 9.2.2 should not be installed in CRM server. Installing 2006 premium on vaction house PC
Can i install 2006 premium in my vaction house PC? Will this creat a problem with my extensive investment portfolio? Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can offer. It won't create a problem if you plan on moving your data file from machine to machine. A USB flash drive would probably be a great way to transport the file to and fro. MT2OFX Version 3.1
Hi all, Just a quick note for anyone who's interested in a program to convert downloaded statements in text, CSV and MT940 formats to QIF and OFX. I've just extended my freeware program to allow easy mapping of the payee to a standard form. I know Money already has something like this but the difference is that MT2OFX works on patterns (regular expressions) so it can handle dates, sequence numbers etc. in the payee field. For those of you who don't know the program, it is script-driven and (if someone writes the appropriate script!) handle any text-based format. I'm a...

HELP: Outlook downloads 3,4, now 5 copies of each email
I make Outlook 2000 use a Outlook.pst file on a separate hard disk instead of the usual C:\Documents & Settings\ folder. Everything is fine. I also TICK "Leave copy of message on server" so I always have a backup copy. Now when i format my PC and reinstall Windows & Outlook, I point to my D:\Outlook.pst and it starts using it. Then all of a sudden it starts downloading ALL my emails again. If I format my PC once again and reinstall Windows & Outlook, then Outlook starts downloading ALL my emails TWICE (there's 2 copies of each email downloaded, plus the copy I...

CRM install on SBS2003
I'm trying to install CRM 1.2 on a SBS2003 server for testing. We I get to the part asking for the SQL server name it can't connect. If I use SERVERNAME\SBSMONITORING for the name I get an error about needing "full-text indexing" runnning on the SQL Server. CRM/Outlook credential caching
Hi; We run a hosted CRM service, and our customers connect over the internet using forms-based authentication (IFD/SPLA). So we've provided them with a domain user account in our hosted AD that has nothing to do with their internal domain at their office. The CRM for Outlook will cache their CRM credentails when they first launch the CRM for Outlook, and that works well. But if I am a user and I today decide to change my password for my CRM-domain account, the CRM for outlook will not ask me for my new password until tomorrow. So for the duration of today, I seem to be connecti...
