Sync Issues with Sales for Outlook Client

In short, I haven't touched this product for about 18 months and
unfortunately, I have virtually forgotten everything about this application.
Therefore, I could really use your help in addressing an issue that I think
we encountered before deploying it.

Let's say user Joe Cool got a new PC (Windows XP SP2) in which we installed
the Sales for Outlook Client. Ever since he got the new PC, he's had trouble
syncing when he goes offline. When online, we see what we're expected to see
while in the Sales for Outlook Client wihin Outlook. When we go offline, we
don't see the changes/updates we expect to see while he's offline.

Is this because Joe Cool's "profile" in the MSCRM database is somehow
attached to his old machine and not his new PC? I'm pretty sure we encounted
this issue way back, but unfortunately, I don't recall how we go about
addressing it.

JawKnee,

I am in the process of studying CRM synchronization and can say with
almost complete confidence that it should not make any difference what
computer "Joe Cool" happens to be on when he synchronizes. I personally am
synching using two machines as we speak. The main problem is that Microsoft
CRM just plain has issues when it comes to synchronizing data (both 1.0 and
1.2) especially contacts.

The main thing I would check is whether or not Joe Cool has the CRM
patches necessary to make it work on a machine with Service Pack 2. Without
the patches (both on the server as well as on the client), CRM will not work
properly with XP SP2. Refer to KB Article ID: 870635.

Also, does Joe Cool have local administrative access to his new machine?
SFO requires an administrative level of access to work properly. There is a
KB article with patch for running SFO with reduced permissions (Article ID:
841124).

Hopefully the above two items will be of help. If not, let the group
know and I'm sure we'll throw more ideas your way.

Sincerely,

Ron

Only 1 crm user can synchronize per computer, right? If a different user
signs onto the machine and tries to synch, doesn't the MSDE database only
have the offline data for the first crm user?

Only one person can use CRM Sales for Outlook per computer, period. If a
user attempts to log into a machine with CRM Sales for Outlook installed
under someone else's profile, they will not have access to CRM Sales for
Outlook, only the person it was installed for will. Put another way, you
can have 10 users on 1 computer but only 1 user out of the 10 can have SFO
installed for them. Once installed, only that 1 user will have access to
it. The other 9 will see nothing when they run Outlook (no CRM toolbar, no
Microsoft CRM Folder and subfolders, nadda). They will only be able to use
the Web client to access CRM, which does not have a synchronize option (of
course).

Outlook pst break up?
Hello, Is there any sort of automated PST Break up scripts, etc that anyone knows of for outlook? I sometimes get multiple issues at the same time where its just the pst needs to be broken down. Outlook Creating Sync Problem Folders.....HELP
When Outlook 2003 perform the send/receive action. My mail comes in/out, however a box pops up showing there was an error. This error then goes into a sync folder as an email. I DID NOT create this folder. If I delete the sync folder, it re-creates itself. Any ideas on how to stop this madness? The sync folder is a system folder that Outlook needs and uses. POS Sync After Every Z Report
Hi All~ I'm wondering if it's the expected behavior to have a POS on another station sync every time a Z report is ran? Should the database sync every time? I thought only when the POS was in offline status. I don't believe the POS is offline everyday, but everyday when we take a Z report, the database syncs with the POS with the database. Is this expected? Issue Migrating Attachments in CRM 4.0
Hi, We are migrating data to MSCRM 4.0. We're using the Data Migration Manager and everything seems to be mapping/migrating fine correctly except for attachments. We have followed the suggested steps in preparting notes/attachments to be migrated, including: 1) Creating the Notes.csv file with and entity column, a unique id column, and a filename column (filename of the attachment). 2) We have placed all the files that are to be attached, in a sub-folder of the folder that contains the Notes.csv file, and named the sub-folder "Attachments". Outlook 2007 and digital certificates
Hello, I've been using Outlook 2007 for a while with a digital certificate I have from Comodo. It is annoying how every signed e-mail I sent, Outlook has to ask me _twice_ about granting access to the certificate in order to send _any_ e-mail I want to sign. I have already trusted the certificate using the Trust Center in Outlook but it doesn't help. If the window for granting/denying access showed up only once I would not be bothered at all, but why twice? I didn't have this problem in Outlook Express nor in Outlook 2003. Is there anyway to fix this? I'd be very thank...

Partial Dollar Sales Tax

Outlook not syncing correctly
Hi Friday I had a nasty disk failure of a server which services a small network, it has only about 5 users. It's the only server in the AD, running as DC ofcourse, W2003 Sp1, Exchange 2003 Sp2. The disk was dead as dead can be. So the disaster recovery plan kicks in... yeah right. Last good tape turned out to be from august 15th 2005. Don't get me started on why. I put in a new disk, installed W2003 SP1 eval edition (only cd arround), restored from tape the c-drive, system state and exchange. After a few reboots solving minor issues about WMI etc, I started checking my mailboxes. Wit...

Bills Summary out of Sync with MSN Bill Pay
I am currently using Money 2006 Deluxe. I am currently using MSN Bill Pay as my online bill pay service. I have noticed over the last few months of using Money 2006 (and this happened with 2005, though not as frequently) that the Bills Summary gets out of sync with my MSN Bill Pay.
