Problem with Outlook Client for CRM 4.0

On one pc in our company we have problems with the outlook client for crm 4.0
This machine was setup six weeks ago.
Windows Vista (32 bit, en-us) and Outlook 2007 is installed on that machine
with all updates. I installed the crm 4.0 client WITHOUT offline
functionality and configured it.
I tested the crm client using the diagnostic tool without any errors
(one warning came up regarding a slow connection but thats all).

After starting Outlook I tried to track a message in crm.
Then I tried the "view in crm".
A empty browser page came up with following address:
http://servername/companyname/_root/stage.aspx

In the crm client log files are some errors.

OUTLOOKErrors.log

The "tracked" contact does also not appear in the crm system.
Unfortunately I found nothing on the net regarding my problem.

I already deleted the outlook profile and reinstalled the crm client.

Please help me.

Check that you don't have any popup blockers running, I often find that the
google toolbar can cause issues.
Have you tried accessing CRM through the web interface on this machine, this
might give you more information.

You did mention that a contact was not in CRM, have a look at this,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948045/en-us which is an issue with the sync
of contacts to outlook.

Hope some of this can help.

The crm site opens in the browser without any problems.
(I put the crm site under local intranet before installation of the crm
client)
No popup blockers installed.

Outlook does not freeze so I don't think it has s.th. to do with the kb
article.

On an other pc (with the crm client) which seems to be ok I checked the log
and there are also many errors but they were not reported to the user.

It seems to be that Microsoft CRM 4.0 is still a beta.

Maybe it would be worth checking the version of CRM you are running.
On the client, in outlook, click on CRM | Help | About Microsoft CRM (My
version is 4.0.7333.3)
On the server, open deployment manager, click on server, when the list of
servers is displayed, check the version. (My version is 4.0.7333.1011)

If you are still on the beta of CRM, you should probably get the full
version installed.

The client and the server are both version 4.0.7333.3
One interesting thing is that the status of the server is "disabled" but the
crm system works.
I tried to enable it but the mmc always crashes.
In the eventlog of the server are several entries regarding the
MSCRMAsyncService.
I don't know why during the installation everything was OK but now there are
many problems.

Maybe the best solutions is a complete reinstallation?

If only one client has an issue, would seam odd for it to be a server fault,
but then again that error saying that the server is disabled does appear a
little odd! It might be worth reinstalling the server, but I would probably
just try giving the server a reboot first!

You say you are getting errors with the async service. I have seen a number
of errors over this. One is to just make sure you have dotnetframework 3.0
sp1 installed (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952755/en-us) and the only one
I have really had an issue with is this one
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950680/en-us) which is do with redeploying a
database, which you may get an issue with if you do reinstall.
