Proactive Alerts in CRM

Is there a way to set up alerts or notifications if certain things are
happening in the CRM. Such as a date being overdue, a person tried to get
into a section they are not supposed to, etc. Thanks.

Workflows should be able to do most of the alerting about things being
overdue to either send an email or create a task

People cannot get into anything they are not supposed to. If they are
locked out of say... invoices through security, the option does not
even appear.

Depending what level of alerts and events you want to monitor, some options
are:

-advanced find based on event, i.e. last modified by?
-workflow watch for certain event like status change, reassign, create
-SDK, Server side or Client side
-3rd party such as VAST, http://www.vscrm.com/

Good luck.

Are you suggesting that the CRM workflow engine could identify all the
activities that are due today and send an e-mail? Assuming there's no easy
way to pop a window that a a phone call activity is due in 15 minutes

Limiting CRM application ability to aasigning user to approprite CRM security group
IT administrator that I have for client does not like the idea of CRM application assigning user group automatically. They prefer to do the security group assignment manually. Is this possible? What do I need to do to achieve that? Thanks Kyaw Hi Kyaw, I did it the following way for a customer: 1) You will need to precreate the five groups within your AD. There is no need of having a own OU (Container, Organizational Unit) for them. Follow the naming convention of your company or use the default namings from Microsoft for the five groups. There is no need for your AD Admin to assig...

CRM Alerts
This is a comment from one of our clients: as for the alarms...we’re just working within Outlook right now...I just don’t understand that a powerful program like this doesn’t have built-in alarms....that’s just stupid in my book...there should be something with-in the system...hell simple Act has that...Goldmine has that...and those are cheapass programs...I could never have conceived a mega program like MS CRM wouldn’t have alarms...and I can’t make the work flow create an email to simulate an alarm for a task or call...so I’m a little tee off about that...I think MS should make a upd...

CRM 3 + Navision and Axapta
What are Microsoft plans to integrate CRM 3 with Navision and Axapta I am not aware of any plans for this integration. I think that MSFT is looking to the partner community to build this. Speed problems in CRM when merging or deleting accounts
We've been experiencing extremely slow performance in CRM whenever one user is trying to delete accounts or merge accounts. Not only does the deleting and merging take a long time for the user trying to do those tasks; it makes CRM nearly impossible to use for any other users during the time that CRM is trying to delete or merge accounts. Is there something wrong with the delete and merge code that it's locking up the account table during these processes? We have c360 installed. Could that product be complicating the existing CRM delete and merge code? ...
