New CRM 1.2 installation login problems

I'm sure this has been asked before but my searches did not turn up
anything that matches so ...

I just installed CRM 1.2 on a box running SBS 2003 Premium with SQL
Server 2000 SP3a. Everything went fine during the installation. I
followed the procedure in Microsoft's document found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/mscrm/mscrm12/deploy/15_sbs03.mspx

After installation, when I try to browse to http://crmweb from a
computer joined to the domain, I get prompted to provide user name and
password credentials. After providing them three times I get a 401.1
error (You are not authorized to view this page).

Now the part I find very interesting is that when I access http://crmweb
from a system on the LAN that is NOT joined to the windows domain, but
has a Local User with the same username and password as a domain user
who is also a CRM user, the CRM web page displays correctly without
prompting for credentials at all.

Can somebody please offer any suggestions to correct the authentication
problem?

Thanks,
Jair

Thank you for your reply. However, this is not the issue. I double checked
and the IP is set to the actual address of the webserver and NOT "All
Unused".

To deepen the plot, I installed Sales for Outlook on one of the laptops in
the domain and that works. Everything is fine until it needs access to
anything directly on crmweb. The database is obviously there and
responsive. It's got to be something with IIS security. Now if I can just
find it ...

Hi Jair:

Depending on how you have your IE security setup (Tools->Internet
Options->Security->Custom Level) for each zone, you could still get a prompt
for login even on a domain joined machine. I have mine setup this way so I
can log is as different users during demos.

However, are you saying that when you get promoted you enter what should be
a valid CRM UN/PW and you are still getting the "access denied" message?

John,

Your understanding is correct. Entering the correct domain\user and
password information fails to validate. After three attempts the browser
gives an error page.

CRM is broke
I have recently reinstall crm and I have huge problem. I have no way to administer the server. When I open the deployment manager, all I have is the license manager. No Server Manager, No User manager NOTHING. I need some help in resolving this issue. I got that too, but only when I logged on as a user (me) who wasn't the one who installed CRM. I was guessing that it could be related to me not being domain admin or something.
