Cannot send e-mails located on Draft folder
Hello everyone! I have Outlook 2003 installed and it was working normally, until I installed Microsoft CRM Client for Outlook 3.0. Now I cannot send or open e-mails located on the Draft Folder. Anyone can help me? When you state 'cannot send or open' what do you mean? Do you receive an error? What is it? -- Jason -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Outlook Client in Another Domain
I was hoping to be able to use MS CRM Outlook client using RPC over HTTPs but now it looks like that is not possible. I was wondering if it was possible to use the Outlook client on a desktop that was a member of a different domain? Art, Yes, for the desktop client this is possible. Make sure that the CRM website is in the trusted locations in IE. It is even possible to use an outlook client which retrieves emails via POP3. For the laptop client I am not sure, because when you go offline it tries to do a replication, and I believe you need to be a member of the domain to do that....

Slow email sending
I have a user with the outlook client that is complaining that emails are not being sent out timely. He will create an email activity and it may take hours for it to actually go out. He has checked the outbox and sent items, and neither place shows the email. We have found that if you goes on-line, and then back off-line, he will get a sync error and the email will go out. Is this normal? What can I do to make the emails go immediately? Where is the email while it is waiting to be sent? TIA Tim Sounds like he is sending email while "offline". If that is the case, the email ...

Lots of clients getting "Delayed Notifications"
This morning lots of clients are complaining that they are getting 'delayed notifications like the ones below. I go to the the SMTP connector (Exch2000) and under "Default SMTP Server" and I see "Queues". Which specific information should I be looking for to determine what's causing these massive number of 'delayed notifications' ? This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Changing the "reply to" on emails
I have several support reps who monitor a queue for customer support requests and then reply to the customer using a CRM email activity. We want any customer reply to our email to be sent to the email address asssociated with the queue. Currently, the emails we send via the CRM use the support rep's email address for the "sent from" and "reply to" addresses. The problem is that when the customer replies to that email, the reply is sent to the support rep's outlook vs back into the support queue. The support rep could be on vacation, etc. I tried settin...

Testing email
I have a situation I need to troubleshoot. I'm trying to send mail and it keeps getting rejected from specific address. Is there a way to determine if the error is on our end or theirs. Our configuration is such that we have an spam/antivirus server that scan all incoming/outgoing mail after it leaves exchange or before it hits exchange. I believe the error is on the receipients end. Is there any way to prove/test this before I contact the receiver. Is there anything such as a tracert for email or something similar. uhm.... well for starters you might consider POSTING the erro...

Email, Remote Access, & Backup issues

Here are some issues/questions i was having 1) Each client, not all, just some, have personal email accounts, pop3. Using the wizard, i told it to not change email settings. This works great, i setup the pop3 accounts and hit send recieve, getting all their mail. Sending is another problem though. SDK against the offline SFO client
There has been a lot of posts about this, and apparently this is not a supported option. <RANT> How the hell are we supposed to create great add-ons for this product if those add-ons do not work when the client is off-line? There is a huge amount of scope for third parties to enhance the base product, but it is a waste of time if the enhancements do not carry forward to off-line mode. Hey! Someone stole the wheels off my Ferarri!!! </RANT> Stephen Right now there is no replication method to bring your code down from the CRM server. As discussed getting customizations wor...

Incorrect NDRs & Miss-Addressed Email Queues
Yesterday morning the Unix box our Exchange system hands off Internet-bound email to was having a problem, as initially evidenced on the Exchange side by the filling up of remote SMTP queues. As part of the troubleshooting process I restarted the SMTP virtual server. When I did this it flushed all of the email out with NDRs indicating that it 'Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified.' These emails had been in the queue less than 12 hours, so that message seems a little pre-mature. The settings for this are default, and I believe that it should wait at least two days b...

email report based on unique ID
I need to email reports based on the unique ID in the page header of the report. I have written some code in VB and it's emailing the report but it's emailing the entire report instead of just the one page unique to the employee, it's also prompting me to enter the unique ID for each employee. I just need it to cycle through the query and email the appropriate page to the correct employee. Below is the code I'm using. "Pernr" is the unique ID and the report name is "rptSI". Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks! Private Sub cmdRunRep...

mail merge to email not working
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I create a mail merge in word 2008 on mac but can't select option for email at the end. Date source Xcel file, works great on everything else. How to mass convert Filename.eml to Filename.msg while keeping them in original subdirectories?
Does anyone know of a utility that walks an explorer directory and subdirectory converting every .eml file into a .msg file? My company has used Outlook express for 4 years, and we often copied emails to various Windows Explorer directories. After copying, we would often rename the .eml file -- for instance change "please help.eml" to "John Doe needs help with Outlook Express crashes.eml". Each e-mail copied resulted in an .eml file like "Hey Santa, here is my xmas list.eml" Find File .eml reveals that we have 3000 such files spread over 100 subdirectories. ...

Multiple Stores and HQ Client
We have 12 stores all together that need to synchronize with HQ Server, this works fine if we alternate each of them to update once an hour, one store 5 minutes after the hour, next store 10 minutes after the hour and so on. I know we can also synchronize each of them for every five minutes or whatever interval throughout the hour. The first situation does not synchronize often enough because we have to release credit holds and things of that nature; the second solution bogs down all the servers and makes doing other store stock checks and what not next to near impossible. Is there a...

Why is the scheduled task on clients set to run every 15 min?
On both XP and Win7 I've seen that the scheduled task that that executes TriggerClientJob.dll runs every 15 min even though the protection group is set to run every 6 hrs. Now although the schedule is running every 15 min, I'm only seeing a sync every 6 hrs. But I'm wondering why that is firing every 15 min and not set closer to the sync time. It's not causing any problems I'm just wondering why it's set like that. Good observation. For a roaming client, this helps poll the connectivity. The way the check works is that it tries every 15 minutes and ex...

Stopping emails with .exe attachments?
Running Ex2003 on 2003 Server in a 2000 Domain. Is there anyway to stop emails with certain kinds of attachments (example .exe )? Nothing native will do this; there's attachment blocking in Outlook, but you shouldn't wait til mail gets to the client to handle this. The best way to deal with it would be to get Exchange antivirus software, which you should be running anyway...it can do this and more. Trend ScanMail or Sybari Antigen would be good to look at as they're probably the best out there. You can get a free 30 day eval of Scanmail from the Trend site. For a list of attach...
