Logon Prompt with CRM 4.0, Vista and IE 8
All I have this issue where I am prompted for a logon every time I open an EMail within CRM 4.0. There are at least 2 other users in the office that have this as well as one of our clients. I have Vista SP2, IE8, CRM 4.0 Update Rollup 6 (had the issue with UR5). If I uninstall IE8 the problem goes away. If I reinstall IE8 the problem comes back. I have.. added the address to the Trusted sites enabled automatic logon Turned protection mode on/off Turned UAC on/off Changed the securtiy levels to minimum security Tried WinServer2003 IE8 -- no logon prompt Tried Win7 IE8 -- no logon prompt Am I missing something or do I need a hotfix.....? Hi, Make sure your crm web site has been added to the trusted web site or intranet. Check at the bottom to verify how your browser consider the site. (Internet/Trusted Site/Intranet) Configure it using Tools/ Internet Options/Security, select the appropriated zone and add the crm web site. Its just the standard out-of-the-box email form. I v had a look in the fromt end it would seem that there are no I-Frames. Even if there was, then I wouldnt be able to make changes as its OOTB. If it is a cross-site scripting security restriction ypou have to enable "Allow data sources across domains" on IE Security Settings. jukka.majanderI have already tried many different variations of the server name with out success. I have just changed the other setting you mentioned and that has not worked either. Iv raised this Microsoft so I can post back the answer here when I get one. Hi, I've been trying to install CRM 3.0 on SBS 2003 with SQL2005 but the CRM 3.0 installation always fails with the following authentication error "Action Microsoft.CRM.Setup.Server.AddLicense Action Failed. Specified Cast is not valid". After trying to reinstall it a number of times, I decided to remove SQL2005 and use SQL2000 instead. CRM 3.0 installed without any problems. So my question is, does CRM3.0 not work with SQL2005 on SBS or am I doing something wrong? CRM 3 Notes Disappearing
About a week ago , we began having this issue. Notes disappear from CRM 3. The notes are not actually gone. If the user reboots they are usually there again. I was able to reproduce the issue logged in as the domain administrator..so it is not user or machine specific. I have seem a few references to this on various web sites..but no resolution. Dynamics.EXE process hangs in 8.0
Occassionally one of our IM jobs fails and we end up with multiple copies of Dynamics.exe running in Windows Task manager on the server (IM runs on the server box). We use standard macros to log in. In 6.0 when this happened we could delete the IM log in if necessary from the Activity window and go to the Windows Task Manager and kill the Dynamics.exe process. This doesn't work in 8.0 with Windows 2003 server. If Dynamics.exe hangs, it requires a reboot. Is there a workaround or some programmatic way of killing this process? ...

Hi, I've found that we're having display issues with CRM 4.0 on IE8. Pop- out menus such as the Help menu are displayed to the right, appearing outside the window border, and hence when the CRM window is maximised they are either partially or wholly off the edge of the screen. You can view the menu if you reduce the window size to less than maximum. This wasn't an issue under IE7 and I have tried compatability mode but this doesnt correct the problem. I can't get the client install to work at all, they either bomb trying to install the 200 MSDE or they bomb trying to apply SP4.... I havent seen a version for 3.0 but It will give you an idea. For 125 users you may want to use a dedicated SQL server, CRM App/Web Server and dedicated report server if you are going to be intensive with reports. So your CRM solution will span across 3 servers. For pricing you will have to contact an MBS partner....

Hi, I've been trying to install CRM 3.0 on SBS 2003 with SQL2005 but the CRM 3.0 installation always fails with the following authentication error "Action Microsoft.CRM.Setup.Server.AddLicense Action Failed. Specified Cast is not valid". After trying to reinstall it a number of times, I decided to remove SQL2005 and use SQL2000 instead. CRM 3.0 installed without any problems. About a week ago , we began having this issue. Notes disappear from CRM 3. The notes are not actually gone. If the user reboots they are usually there again. Dynamics.EXE process hangs in 8.0
Occassionally one of our IM jobs fails and we end up with multiple copies of Dynamics.exe running in Windows Task manager on the server (IM runs on the server box). We use standard macros to log in. In 6.0 when this happened we could delete the IM log in if necessary from the Activity window and go to the Windows Task Manager and kill the Dynamics.exe process. This doesn't work in 8.0 with Windows 2003 server. If Dynamics.exe hangs, it requires a reboot. Is there a workaround or some programmatic way of killing this process? ...

Hi, I've found that we're having display issues with CRM 4.0 on IE8. Pop- out menus such as the Help menu are displayed to the right, appearing outside the window border, and hence when the CRM window is maximised they are either partially or wholly off the edge of the screen. You can view the menu if you reduce the window size to less than maximum. This wasn't an issue under IE7 and I have tried compatability mode but this doesnt correct the problem.
