Issue of hanging importing customisations
Hello.
When I try to import all customisations, the import hangs. A check of
in event viewer this finds that an error is being reported as follows:

As an update to any one else who may have this problem, I have got it working. Instead of doing an export all, just select every single object, export selected, the import these. That works???????
Note that when using this method relationships between custom entities will not be exported. You may want to try and export all customizations then on the import first import all new or heavily customized entities sepparatly, then import the entire customization file at once. This will ensure every thing is imported. This is happening during the publishing part, as the import (eventually after maybe 30 minutes or more) works. When I try to just publish 4 or 5 customizations at a time, no problems. Kind of a pain.

create target or placeholder for imported excel document?
I have a Publisher 2002 document that contains a table created in Excel and pasted into the document. This spreadsheet data is periodically renewed. I delete the old table and paste in a new Excel document created by a coworker. Is there a way to create a placeholder or target for pasting the spreadsheet into the same position? Mac Mail Import
I've just installed Home and Student 2008 on Leopard. Entourage imported my connection settings from Mac Mail but hasn't imported the messages. Are there any suggestions on how to bring my messages across. An alternative is to download all messages from my server but this doesn't seem to be available. Thanks. Cell shading issue on EXCEL 2003
I'm newly on XP and EXCEL 2003 from an antique computer and old Microsoft versions. I'm unable to view cell shading on the screen even though the "format cells, patterns, cell shading, color" shows that it should be there. Hi, One of my colleague had a strange problem yesterday. When his client has his notebook connected to company network, he's able to read all his emails. When client disconnect his notebook from company network, and select File->Offline, client is not anymore able to read his email and folders where they are normally stored. I am programmatically creating a CSV file that has a list of formulae from a workbook/worksheet (see example below). Note that there are 5 records in the file, tho the text might wrap below in your newsreader to appear to have more lines. Email Addressing issue prior to GroupWise Migration
Hello, We are currently using quest for our migration from Groupwise to Exchange 2k3. The problem is when when someone in groupwise forwards a message with an external email address, the email address becomes messed-up. for example, someone with the email of Joe.Doe@MyHome.com ends up as [MyHome.com].Joe.Doe Under the email properties of the address, it shows the email type as GWISE (Assuming groupwise) and the display name and email address as what i have listed as my example. Playing around with something else, I noted that the Import from Other File or program option in Outlook 2007 only mentions Excel 97-2003. Huh? I'm guessing that the converters just don't cover the new XML based formats but you can still save in the older format in the 2007 apps so it's not so bad. Real Exchange 5.5 issues
I just attempted to upgrade my Exchange 5.5 server to sp4. It was not the smoothest process to say the least. When I open the exchange administrator console and click on the help menu then about it says version 5.5 (build 2653.23: Service Pack 4). However when I check the properties on the server, it says version 5.5 (build 2448.8: Service Pack 2). When I start the exchange admin in raw mode there is no way to change the version of the server and I am receiving errors when I try to generate new email addresses (KB article 158336). We're importing a large number of contacts, spread across a large number of contact lists, into individual users Outlook. The imports are currently from CSVs. We do file|import. All works very well. Purchase Order Issues
One of our clients have been having some issues with purchase orders. They have two lanes running the newest version of RMS, one of which is the server. First when adding items to a purchase order, if any item is rung up in the other lane it is added to the purchase order. This is a reproduceable result. PS 2007 SP2
It looks like the SP2 is not able to pick up the outline codes values from an SP1 MPP file. When opening a MPP that was created in SP1 in our SP2 environment, the outline codes values are incorrect. One of our user is having an odd problem. She is not able to view pictures in emails. It appears as a broken image, with the placeholder but with a small red X on top. I'm getting the error when I run the grant mailbox permissions script: No mailbox owner user accounts found for /O=DOMAIN/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=JAY in DC=domain,DC=local. Importing messages
We recently moved from a 3rd party hosting site to internal email on Exchagne 2003. The 3rd party failed to tell us that once the MX was change we could NO longer get into thier web mail. Now we have all our old message stuck in there system with only RAW data files to go from. I do not know if the format is RAW, but that is how they keep refering to it. I have included a sample of the raw data. It is readable in notepad, so its not in binary anything like that. Is there a way to import this into Exchange? Can Import Email Data Filed from Office XP to Office 2003
My HD failed but I had a backup of my Office XP Pro personal file folder with a lot of emails I needed. The file is about 128MB in size. I put a new HD in and installed Office 2003 Pro. When I go to open the old file Outlook 2003 says that the file "is not a personal folders file". (It was backed up to a CD ROM prior to the crash so the source file should be good.) When I get a message with a image and click on the image to open it, preview opens up a blank document. However when I drag and drop the image to the desktop it opens fine. PS 2007 SP2
It looks like the SP2 is not able to pick up the outline codes values from an SP1 MPP file. When opening a MPP that was created in SP1 in our SP2 environment, the outline codes values are incorrect. The testers are having to go into the outline codes and re-enter the correct information. Has anyone had the same issues. Example - if you choose Project - Project Information - the baseline Year is incorrect and some of our custom outline codes values are incorrect. Problem viewing JPG in message
One of our user is having an odd problem. She is not able to view pictures in emails. It appears as a broken image, with the placeholder but with a small red X on top. When she clicks reply or forward, the image appears! It is not an issue with outlook's automatic download, as it is disabled. She uses outlook 2003. Thanks. How do I import data from an Adobe Acrobat pdf file to Excel????? I have tried saving the file as plain text, accessible text and rich text. The file will not save with the proper formatting. grant permissions issue
I'm getting the error when I run the grant mailbox permissions script: No mailbox owner user accounts found for /O=DOMAIN/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=JAY in DC=domain,DC=local. Failed to get user's LDAP path from /O=DOMAIN/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=JAY Anyone able to explain why this would happen. I'm logged into my client machine as the domain admin. Importing messages
We recently moved from a 3rd party hosting site to internal email on Exchagne 2003. The 3rd party failed to tell us that once the MX was change we could NO longer get into thier web mail. Now we have all our old message stuck in there system with only RAW data files to go from. I do not know if the format is RAW, but that is how they keep refering to it. I have included a sample of the raw data. It is readable in notepad, so its not in binary anything like that. Is there a way to import this into Exchange? Can Import Email Data Filed from Office XP to Office 2003
My HD failed but I had a backup of my Office XP Pro personal file folder with a lot of emails I needed. The file is about 128MB in size. I put a new HD in and installed Office 2003 Pro. When I go to open the old file Outlook 2003 says that the file "is not a personal folders file". (It was backed up to a CD ROM prior to the crash so the source file should be good.)
