Imported Date FormatI have imported data from an accounting program and the date format is
20070101 for January 1, 2007. I have looked at various sites that would use
Left(),Mid(),Right() to break the numbers and then put them back into
2007/01/01 but was wondering if anyone had a simpler solution.
Thanks,
Lee Coleman
=DATE(LEFT(A1,4),MID(A1,5,2),RIGHT(A1,2))
Look familiar?

create target or placeholder for imported excel document?I have a Publisher 2002 document that contains a table created in Excel and
pasted into the document. This spreadsheet data is periodically renewed. I
delete the old table and paste in a new Excel document created by a
coworker. Is there a way to create a placeholder or target for pasting the
spreadsheet into the same position? I'm spending too much time moving the
new spreadsheet into position each time.
Now in Publisher, I select table>delete table>
In Excel, I select and copy the spreadsheet

Mac Mail ImportI've just installed Home and Student 2008 on Leopard. Entourage imported my
connection settings from Mac Mail but hasn't imported the messages. Are
there any suggestions on how to bring my messages across. An alternative is
to download all messages from my server but this doesn't seem to be
available. Thanks.
I solved the problem by changing a setting on my POP account to allow me to
download messages. I was unable, however, to import into Entourage any Mac
Mail messages that were "Saved As" to a folder as an mbox file. Interesting
lack of compatibility.

Cell shading issue on EXCEL 2003I'm newly on XP and EXCEL 2003 from an antique computer and old Microsoft
versions.
I'm unable to view cell shading on the screen even though the "format cells,
patterns, cell shading, color" shows that it should be there.
It doesn't show for either new spreadsheets or existing ones (which had
shading for my input cells in prior EXCEL versions).
I've tried everything I can think of.........any suggestions? Is it EXCEL or
XP settings?
In posting this, I found the answer from Rowan Drummond from the 10/18/2005

issue with outlook XPHi,
One of my colleague had a strange problem yesterday.
When his client has his notebook connected to company network, he's able
to read all his emails.
When client disconnect his notebook from company network, and select
File->Offline, client is not anymore able to read his email and folders
where they are normally stored. Concretly the message error is that
outlook is not able to open the folders where are emails. :-(
Client use Communigate email server...but our company we all use
communigate and this work offline service, without having such issue.

Issue with CSV fileI am programmatically creating a CSV file that has a list of formulae from a
workbook/worksheet (see example below).
Note that there are 5 records in the file, tho the text might wrap below in
your newsreader to appear to have more lines.
Double clicking on the CSV file causes Excel to issue #NAME? errors for the
records marked as BAD,
The records marked as "BAD" cause Excel to try to update the text due to the
included references to worksheets.
This occurs for a formula that begin with a "-" character. And, ditto for a
"+".
I can avoid the problem by sticking an...

Smartinet.ini file issueHas anyone had the error message "Money encountered an
error processing the download file smrtinet.ini".
Apparently, the problem disables my ability to update
Money. It was present for a long time, stopped for a few
downloads and then started to show up again. Appreciate
the guidance.
In less time reading threads than you spent posting, you would have found
the thread "error msg when downloading from internet" dealing with this.

Email Addressing issue prior to GroupWise MigrationHello,
We are currently using quest for our migration from Groupwise to Exchange
2k3. The problem is when when someone in groupwise forwards a message with
an external email address, the email address becomes messed-up. for example,
someone with the email of Joe.Doe@MyHome.com ends up as [MyHome.com].Joe.Doe
Under the email properties of the address, it shows the email type as GWISE
(Assuming groupwise) and the display name and email address as what i have
listed as my example.
I'm assuming that the problem lies somewhere in my GW to Exchange connector
and/or the Exch Sync server...
Importing data #2hi
I would like to import data from the web and although this is quite simple
in Excel 2003 the new data (that comes in upon refresh) replaces the old. I
was wondering if there is a way to keep previous history of the data, make
Excel fill in adjacent cells with the new data for example.
Thanks for taking the time to read this

Outlook 2007 can't import from Excel 2007?Playing around with something else, I noted that the Import from Other File
or program option in Outlook 2007 only mentions Excel 97-2003. Huh?
I'm guessing that the converters just don't cover the new XML based formats
but you can still save in the older format in the 2007 apps so it's not so
bad.

Real Exchange 5.5 issuesI just attempted to upgrade my Exchange 5.5 server to sp4. It was not the
smoothest process to say the least. When I open the exchange administrator
console and click on the help menu then about it says version 5.5 (build
2653.23: Service Pack 4). However when I check the properties on the server,
it says version 5.5 (build 2448.8: Service Pack 2). When I start the
exchange admin in raw mode there is no way to change the version of the
server and I am receiving errors when I try to generate new email addresses
(KB article 158336).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

List Pane issue in Outlook 2003I've been through several tutorials, and don't even see this issue listed
anywhere. I'm sure it's an easy fix, though. When I go to my inbox and have
finished with any given email, I want it to LEAVE the inbox, just as it does
by default on any other email client I've ever seen. It should either
automatically go to a USED folder, or just plain go away if i have deleted
it. Instead, Outlook just draws a line through the subject heading to show
it's been deleted, or it de-bolds the header if it has already been read. I
want Outlook to function like the inter...

the "subject" field is being populated that way.

First when adding items to a purchase order, if any item is rung up in the

Secondly, sometimes when adding items to a purchase order, if they change

Hi
you'll have to re-format your exported pdf file in most cases. Nothing
much you can do against this. Ask the creator of the PDF file for the
original version

Importing messagesWe recently moved from a 3rd party hosting site to internal email on
Exchagne 2003. The 3rd party failed to tell us that once the MX was
change we could NO longer get into thier web mail. Now we have all
our old message stuck in there system with only RAW data files to go
from. I do not know if the format is RAW, but that is how they keep
refering to it. I have included a sample of the raw data. It is
readable in notepad, so its not in binary anything like that.
Is there a way to import this into Exchange? Or can anyone give me
some direction to go on.
Thanks!

Can Import Email Data Filed from Office XP to Office 2003My HD failed but I had a backup of my Office XP Pro personal file folder
with a lot of emails I needed. The file is about 128MB in size. I put a new

don't want to uninstall Office 2003 and put back Office XP. Any idea why
2003 won't open the file and how to work around that? Many thanks in advance
