How to handle "dead" accounts?

I would like to be able to convert "dead" accounts back into leads. These
are accounts that haven't bought from me for x amount of years. I need to
get them back into my "lead" process.

What is the recommended way to do this?

Using CRM 4

you can make query in SQL , export the result on CSV and import them
back in CRM . Once you are done then you can deactivate / delete
existing dead accounts either using crm interface or .Net.

I'm thinking you could also do this with a manual workflow. Isolate
the accounts in question and then run the workflow to create new leads
populated with the fields in the accounts.

Removing dead server from a site
Hi, I have a small problem, we had a remote exchnage server with only two users on it. The server died and the exchange database together with it. No backup useable existed of the server, so all data are lost. My problem is now, that the old e-mail addreses are replicated to other sites, and therefor cannot be reassigned. How do I get rid of this server from my organisation, is it enough just to delete the connectors to the bridgehead server ? And can I do this when the server is no longer available ? Data is no issue here since all mails for these two users are lost anyway. I a...

MS Money looks like it is "dead"
Used to buy Tax Cut because it usually offered a good price on the latest version of MS Money. This year (Tax year 2008) there is no such deal. Further, MS Money is not advertised, nor is it on any shelf. What happened to a product I really like and continue to use. My copy of MS Money says it will expire 12/15/09. I am assuming that means I will not be able to access any of Microsoft's online tools. I hope that it the only limitation, and that I can continue to use my current copy for my personal bookkeeping. Any one have some insight??? JoeKool1 I wouldn't be surprised but hope...

How to avoid dead lock in linking lib files ?

Transfering files from a dead system
OK my laptop mb died, the disk is ok. I have a new desktop that I wish to run Money on. I can read the disk from my laptop. The $64 question is, how do I import the files from the dead machines disk? If I just need to copy files and then run import, what files do I copy off of the old drive? See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=109. The site is down at the moment--I'll go work with the hosting company to figure that out. In short, get the .MNY data file(s). No import. Outlook deadly slow (mostly static!) when sending attachments
Outlook and XP. Sending emails absolutely fine. Sending emails with attachments (not very big, say 500k) used to be fine. Now, sending emails with the same attachments the sending-message progress bar leaps to half-way and stays there. Very occasionally, over several minutes, it chunters on until it's finished sending but mostly it just stays half-way. Like it's doing right now. From the absence of flashing, no computer activity. Receiving email with or without attachments absolutely fine. Any ideas? Regards to group. Do you have anything dealing with the attachments on ...

Dead Mail
Hi all, I assume the junk email that exchange catches ends up in Dead Mail. My Question is how can I read and retrieve dead mail/old junk mail. -- Vince If you've got the IMF installed and set to archive, then junk mail ends up in the 'ucearchive' folder underneath your SMTP virtual server folders. If you're referring to the BadMail folder, then this is where Exchange stores (for want of a better description) NDRs that cannot be delivered. -- Neil Hobson Exchange MVP http://www.msexchange.org/Neil_Hobson/ "Vince" <Vince@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote...

dead IP block list provider causes time outs and bounces...
The demise of ORDB.org pointed out another shortcoming of Exchange 2007. While we had ordb configured as an IP block list provider, and while they were apparently suffering outages, occasionally senders were unable to send us email. Their non-delivery reports contained the error "timed out while sending mail-from". I'd like to suggest to the developers that Exchange should avoid this in the future by placing a reasonable time limit on how long it waits for an answer from an IP block list provider. Thanks ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Mic...

Exchange 5.5 Dead Mail
How can I view the contents of the Dead Mail queue in Exchange 5.5? I decided to set up this as a test: http://hellomate.typepad.com/exchange/2003/07/black_holes_not.html But I am lead to believe the mail does not "vanish", it just enters a Bad Mail queue. I'd like to be able to remove this mail so it doesn't take up space, especially if we decide to go with this suggestion. Any ideas? I have the GWClient application on the server, and made a profile using ProfInst.EXE .. but nothing shows up in the "Bad" mail section. Thanks! Colin Colin M wrote: >...
