CRM 4.0 SETUP ERRORS

Dear all,

I tried Installing CRM 4.0 professional edition in my test lab on windows
server 2003 sp2, i keep receiving the following errors after folloming the
implementation guide step by step:

1.error: verify domain user account SPN for microsoft dynamics CRM ASP.NET
application pool account.( I use domain user account with domain admins
right for the service account)

2. Error: Index was outside the bound of the array

3: SQL error: an error accured while esterblishing connection to the server,
when connecting to SQL server 2005. This failure may be caused by the fact
that under default settings, sql server does not allow remote connection
(Provider: Named pipes:Provider) { i enable all the TCP connections in the
SQL configuration manager, and specify the IP address on the machine that is
running SQL Server.

4. SQL Report Error: Setup fail to validate specific reporting service
report server http://compname/reportservername. The request failled with
HTTP status 404. Not found.

I want to run all the services in one server bcos im deploying for test
purposes.

I will highly appreciate any help as to how i canm solve these errors cos i
try all possible steps for resolution to no avail.

Thanks in advance
Adamu Garba

I think I would try accepting the default service accounts since this
is a test installation, unless you are testing various security
configurations, i.e. go with the defaults on your test box. Use the
SQL Server Configuration Manager to check which protocols are enabled
on your server. Under the network configuration you should be able to
easily see what is enabled. My guess however is that once you change
the service account the other error will no longer be present (I would
just uninstall what you have and use the network service or local
system account; same with SSRS); won't hurt to take a look and make
sure that TCP/IP is enabled....although chances are pretty good that
it is.

I am not sure about the index is out of range error, but hopefully it
will go away once you have corrected the others. Please post back you
results.

The error "index outside the bound of the array" is caused when the entered
value , during setup, of the domain account doesn't match the existing
application pool account(within IIS... CRMappPool).
Example "
Setup
Application Pool Account
Administrator@VirtualWorld.com          !=          VirtualWorld\Administrator

To correct the problem, just make sure the domain account name is type exact
like the Application Pool account.

Setup
Application Pool Account
VirtualWorld\Administrator
VirtualWorld\Administrator

I hope this helps.

How do I track emails ONLY using tokens in CRM 4.0?
The pattern matching or "intelligent" matching of email content is misapplying inbound emails to non-related cases. I want to turn this feature OFF ASAP and return to ONLY tracking through tokens in the subject line. I can turn OFF tokens but not the smart matching. A configuration option would have been nice. I think you turn on the tokens, and then your users have to use the option to only track "E-mail messages in response to CRM e-mail" - that's how you prevent CRM from using 'smart' matching. Submit button #4
I'm building an intranet for our company and here's what's going on. I've created page with a standard publisher form with a Submit button and in the properties, naturally it gives one of three options for the button; HTM, E-mail or another ISP program. I want it to email me the results. The problem is that because of the way our network is setup (not my doing), getting Frontpage Extensions to work would be nothing short of a miracle. What other options do I have that don't involve Frontpage anything? Ted, I haven't used it, but others claim it is easy and ...

CRM 3.0 and CRM 4.0
Dear All, We were implementing MSCRM for a very protential CRM customer (Education). Even they haven't signed the contract but we already started developing on the CRM 3.0, 3 weeks ago. If we place order to MS now, we will receive the V4 earlier than Q1-2008, but it is V4, not V3 So now we decided moving the developing on V4 directly because no guarantee what we wer...

CRM registration can not be done!
After CRM installation and valid internet connection via LAN, I could not succeed to register CRM 3.0. Is there anybody who had this problem before and solve it?? When you fill in the registration details, if you specify the implementation was done by a partner company, make sure you fill in data in all fields for the partner company, otherwise the registration process can fail -- David Jennaway - Microsoft Dynamics CRM MVP Web: http://www.excitation.co.uk "Pleiades" wrote: > After CRM installation and valid internet connection via LAN, I could > not succeed to registe...

File in Use Error
Hello, I have a excel spreadsheet with two worksheets, each of which connects to the same Access database via an ODBC connection to retrieve data. The worksheets have different data and are pulling from different tables in access. I was able to do this without any problem but since I am the owner and creator for both files I did not forsee any problems. Now I need another individual to do this task but when they open the excel file they get 'File in Use :|' error. The person has read, write, modify and excute rights to the database. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. Sini ...

Migrating CRM to CRM
We had to delete the OU from the Active Directy, and now cannot get to our data. Reading through the posts it looks as though we have to use the DMF to convert our data because of the GUIDs that are hard-coded in the files. Unless someone knows of a utility that I can use to change the GUIDs in the Active Directory - but we tried a number of different things. So, is there an easy method to import CRM data into CRM? I tried using SQL DTS to the cdf_entities, but this is like pulling teeth, and don't know if I am going to be losing any data. Anyone have any insight into getti...

setup email acct.
I setup an account in outlook and when it does it check it tells me it could not send and to check my email address which is the right one. Can someone help me? It's probably saying that your server addresses are not correct, not your email. Look at your ISP's web page or call them for the correct settings for the incoming & outgoing mail server settings. One little typo or misplaced space will cause errors. Same goes for your email address--check it for typos. >-----Original Message----- >I setup an account in outlook and when it does it check >it tells me it co...

Upgrading to CRM 3.0 Problems
Hello, We're upgrading from CRM 1.2 to 3.0 and are coming across an error we can't get past. After entering all the information it brings up the system requirements screen where it goes through everything to make sure the install will be smooth. Everything checks out except for IIS. The exact error is "The Web site's NTAuthenticationProviders must be Negotiate,NTLM" We've researched the error on the web and found the adminscripts command to make the site Negotiate,NTLM and the get command does show it to be just that but when we restart IIS and start the ins...
