Can we customize CRm to fit our business model?

We're a general agent in the insurance industry. We have several independent
agents that choose to work with us. We want to push & track leads out to
them via email. We're willing to manually track the results. We would also
want to market to the agents in selected counties or regions. We need to be
able to recruit newly licensed agents. We have seminars and additional
training classes we offer. Any suggestions on how to setup & customize CRM to
fit that model? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi Carter,

Yes, you can customize MSCRM to fit your business model!

You can use the Campaign management functionality in Marketing to run email
campaigns and convert the responses into Leads. You can set up target
marketing lists depending on the criteria specified. For seminars and
trainings, you can use the Event Management functionality of MSCRM.

As for Agent Management, you can use the out-of-the-box Customer management
functionality and define the relationship between an Agent and your
organization. Another option would be to create a custom entity to manage
Agents.

Hope this answered your questions for now. Do let us know if you have any
other questions.

One option might be to consider some form of poral solution so that people
who do not work directly for you could view their leads and make updates.
Also this would mean your company can also monitor the status of the Leads.
If you are sending leads out you need to be able to ensure that each lead is
actioned and a result logged ie was it successful or not.

I would say yes, and your processes sound interesting and yet achievable.
We've carried out extensive customisations for a pretty complex (certainly
more granular) business process than come "out of the box". In many ways,
our need to customize further justified the choice of MS CRM.

However, I think you will need some good technical expertise or support -
user customisations by a "power user" are (in my view) good for tweaking and
enhancing, but new entities and relationships start to become better managed
by someone who really knows their way around.

Determining the last business date
Is there any way (at 5pm in the continental USA) I can (fairly) conclusively determine the most recent date on which the stock market was open? This question comes from the following: If I have my VBScript hop over to http://my.msn.com/ then I can take a look at a fixed set of stock quotes (provided I have set them up). However, I don't see the date shown in any way. Now, if I could guarantee that the script would be run every day, then I could do some tricks (like checking whether all the quotes are the same as the prior accepted set - if so, I can assume the next date). ...

Can't Upgrade from 2004 to 2005
Hi! Several months ago, a creeping corruption problem that caused me to spend weeks manually reconstructing transactions, destroyed my confidence in Money's ability to maintain my data. When I tried to updgrade from Money 2004 to Money 2005, it insisted that I disable bill pay and that it would re-enable it. Instead of re-enabling bill pay on the same account, it created a new empty account and attached bill pay to that. There is no obvious way to correct this and the new help system is totally useless. In the few days I had Money 2005 I never found a single answer to a question i...

Fixed Assets across business lines
