It did last only for a year, starting last April or May.

Right now I think it is only going to last for a couple of months.

I think it expires in April or May.

My experience with beta installations of Office is that it's wise to
uninstall them before the expiration date. And YES there is an expiration
date. As far as pricing is concerned, Microsoft usually never announces
pricing until just before product release.

Interesting. This (Office Watch) is usually a reliable source but they
haven't linked to any web pages or press releases from Microsoft. And they
don't list all of the configurations either. Since the beta is not yet in
Release Candidate stage, I'd wait until there was an official announcement.
The only thing official from Microsoft is here:

http://www.microsoft.com/Office/2010/en/faqs/default.aspx#38q

and it states that pricing will be available at a later date.

Other sources say that Microsoft has, indeed, announced the pricing:

http://tinyurl.com/ybhexkr =>
http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2010/01/microsoft-reveals-offic
e-2010-retail-prices.ars

That article says "Microsoft has revealed prices" but doesn't give a
citation, or say who at MS has done so.

But it's pretty clear with reliable sources like Office Watch and
Ars Technica saying that MS has announced the prices (whether
officially or not) that MS has indeed said what the prices are going
to be (or what they expect them to be).

Here's a Microsoft employee giving the pricing:

http://tinyurl.com/yekuy7h =>
http://blogs.technet.com/office2010/archive/2010/01/05/what-the-offic
e-team-will-be-talking-about-at-ces.aspx

....and that article points to this document for more details on
pricing:

http://tinyurl.com/y9yqpel =>
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/presskits/2010office/docs/Office20
10PricingFS.doc

That looks to me like an official MS press release. There's no
qualification in that document say these are provisional prices.

I using 2 versions of Mac Office 2004 (Japanese and English). How do I set the default for which version my machine uses to open office files? It would of course be better if MS allowed users to switch menu languages within the program just as Mac does with its OS and associated software.
