CurrentUser() & workgroup security (ACCESS 2007)

I want to populate a field with the Windows username of the current user.

I have created a Macro with a SetValue action. In the arguments, I entered
the relevant field as the Item and the Expression as CurrentUser().

When this macro runs, it always populates the field with 'Admin'.

A search of help files suggests I need to enable workgroup security for this
function to work. How do I do this in Access 2007? (If this isn't the
problem, what will make the currentuser() function work?)

CurrentUser doesn't give you the Windows username: it gives you the Access
username. And Microsoft removed the ability to use User-Level Security in
ACCDBs (and ACCDEs) in Access 2007 (although you can still do it if the
database is in a previous format).

However, what you want is at http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0008.htm at
"The Access Web".

Publisher 2007 not printing two sided cards correctly.
I am trying to print a card that is two-sided. The paper is set up as 5x7 inches half-page side fold with the layout type of folded card, so it's really a 10x7 inch piece of paper. It was printing right where page 1 and 4 would print on the same side and then you flip the paper over and continue printing and it would print page 2 and 3 on the same side, that way when you folded it in half page one is the cover and page 4 is the back and 2 and 3 are on the inside. The print setup dialog would even show the two sided option with 1 and 4 on it. However, something happened so that no...

Social Security deposits
Social Security deposits are made on 2nd Wednesday, or 3rd Wednesday, or 4th Wednesday of the month depending upon your birthdate. Is there any way to customize Money deposit frequency to be made in such a manner? Once a month is not quite right... Workgroup security drawback
Hi I have created a database using a Workgroup Information File to provide security, but I have discovered to my amazement that it can be opened without usernames and passwords by simply opening MS ACCESS, then opening the .mdb file using the File, Open menu. If you do that, then since the default ID is Admin, anyone will be able to use your application with any MDW file. -- Doug Steele, Microsoft Access MVP http://I...
