sync combo boxes as per example given

i followed the instructions given to me to sync combo boxes in the sample
templates of access 07, and have managed to produce one new form; as stated i
had to do, to create eleven "working" combo boxes.
the problem i now have is that this "new form" is not linked to any table. i
followed the vba code route adapting it to sync my various combo boxes. if i
use the macro route would my end form still be the created form from the
"create form wizard" of the create tab from my original table.
if not is there a procedure to create a table from a form? or a way of
indexing data on a form to link it to a specific table.
thanks for any assistance you can offer.

That made my head spin!

Somehow, you've ended up with a form which has controls which are not linked
to any table.

If you view the Properties Dialogue for the Form, you can set the Record
Source to be an existing table, a named query or an "anonymous" query
created right then and there. Once you've done that, you can set the
"Control Source" of controls (boxes) on the form, and by doing so you will
be picking values from the same record (as returned by one record from the
form's Record Source). (I should mention that you could fully-qualify the
Control Source so that it draws its value from somewhere other than the
Form's Record Source, but that is more specialised. I should also point out
that it's more usual to go the other way - the structure of your tables and
the relationships between them are paramount, and forms are built to fit in.
However, designing a form for a particular operation can be a way of getting
insight into what tables you're going to need, but such "prototype" forms
are usually best discarded to avoid the temptation of skewing your tables to
fit a particular form!

The rule I follow is to get your tables right first, and let all other
design decisions flow from them. In your case, the next step would be to
create a form based on an appropriate query, and then change the default
text boxes into Combo boxes, and finally set up the criterion and requery
event-handler action which will relate the combo boxes. Eleven combo
boxes - sounds pretty complex!

thanks phil
you have been a lifesaver, initially i had designed all my tables and built
relationships for them the normal way, as i am the only person to use my
database i was happy with all my initial forms (built by form wizard", bit of
more than i could chew when i saw the "sync combo" example and thought wow
that would spruce up the one form that is complicate from my database project
but i created a monster.
will use your advise and link the new rogue forms record source back to the
original table.
thanks once again.

Outlook Creating Sync Problem Folders.....HELP
When Outlook 2003 perform the send/receive action. My mail comes in/out, however a box pops up showing there was an error. This error then goes into a sync folder as an email. I DID NOT create this folder. If I delete the sync folder, it re-creates itself. Any ideas on how to stop this madness? The sync folder is a system folder that Outlook needs and uses. Would probably be better to address the error, rather than merely trying to hide the reporting mechanism, no? -- -Ben- Ben M. how to convert text box to title holder?
This may be a dumb question, but with PP 2007, I have a file that's a mash-up of material from several other files. Now, with slides that otherwise look similar, some have titles that show in Outline and some don't. I presume the titles on the don'ts are actually text boxes, not title holders. POS Sync After Every Z Report
Hi All~ I'm wondering if it's the expected behavior to have a POS on another station sync every time a Z report is ran? Should the database sync every time? I thought only when the POS was in offline status. I don't believe the POS is offline everyday, but everyday when we take a Z report, the database syncs with the POS with the database. Is this expected? Hi Jerry, It syncs every z because there may be changes to the items, taxes and other databases. -- * "Jerry Penna" <jerrypenna@msn.com> wrote in message news:3ac97809.0411161303.32f35868@posting.googl...

Outlook not syncing correctly
Hi Friday I had a nasty disk failure of a server which services a small network, it has only about 5 users. It's the only server in the AD, running as DC ofcourse, W2003 Sp1, Exchange 2003 Sp2. The disk was dead as dead can be. So the disaster recovery plan kicks in... yeah right. Last good tape turned out to be from august 15th 2005. Don't get me started on why. I put in a new disk, installed W2003 SP1 eval edition (only cd arround), restored from tape the c-drive, system state and exchange. Leader Lines Connecting Chart to Box
I have a pie chart with a text box (to the upper right). I take one slice and draw lines from the top and bottom of the outside ends of the slice to connect to the text box. Automate sync deactivating

We could go around to all of the workstations, but would prefer a script or something to handle it. Also, to prevent these from happening in the future, can the installs be set to default with ...

Bills Summary out of Sync with MSN Bill Pay
I am currently using Money 2006 Deluxe. I am currently using MSN Bill Pay as my online bill pay service. I have noticed over the last few months of using Money 2006 (and this happened with 2005, though not as frequently) that the Bills Summary gets out of sync with my MSN Bill Pay. Basically, it will show bills due in February of 2006 when they are due in October 2005. It throws off the cash flow since the cash flow uses the data from the Bills Summary. I can check the settings in MSN Bill Pay and the payment dates are correct. The only way to "fix" this problem is to re-...
