Using Combo Boxes as a Source for Parameter Queries
I often encounter a situation where I want to run a select (parameter) query
on a particular table, but instead of having the user type in their own
parameter, I'd like for them to be able to choose, from a combo box that
auto-completes, the actual item in the underlying table, then use this string
as the basis for the parameter query. I want to limit the parameters to
already-extant items in the underlying table and so avoid close-but-not-exact
matching problems by free-typing the parameter.

I have 2 different sets of data each with 3 columns. I am going to place the
2 sets of data on Sheet 1 of a spreadsheet and Sheet 2 of a spreadsheet. The
data in a row across the 3 columns pertains to each other. This is true for
the data on each sheet. I need to take the data from sheet 1 and have it
match up with any entries that exist on sheet 2, and have it show these
matches on sheet 3. The problem is the data in sheet 1 and 2 are not exactly
the same. On sheet 1 the data is: Customer Name, Transaction#, Acct#. On

We are runninng a Windows 2003 DC server, with Exchange 2003,
We have a couple of distribution list ( internal and external)
For 2 different lists ( branche offices with there own mailsserver and
we added the employees as contacts in AD
One list excists out of 5 names and works fine ( all individual person
reciev the e-mails in there own account)
The other contains 15 names, but when we use this list the mail is not
send to the individual persons but is received bij the recieving end as
a list name
the receiving party uses Mdaemon mailserver and a popbox.

Hi, We have just implemented CRM 3.0 and things are going very well. However,
I would like to restrict some of the functionality of the sales people in the
team. I would like to disable the ability for them to assign records to
themselves i.e. records created will automatically be assigned to the owner
of the Company record? I have checked the security roles but cannot see how
to do this?
Also Is there a security setting that lets a user over ride locked records
for example when a quote has been activated it cannot be changed, what if we

I would like to know how to make a pick list (a "list" of names) conditional
on what was picked in the previous column pick list (e.g. of the 4 main areas
of a plant (pick list/ column A), there are anywhere from 3 to 5 sections
within each main area. I would like to format/program the second pick list
(coumn B) to only show the list of sections corresponding to the 'main area'
selected in column A. Then I need to do this for a third pick list (specific
equipment). If you have an example, it would be appreciated.

Is there any way to allow a user of a spreadsheet to cut and paste text in and out of an Excel Text Box? Is there a setting that I am missing? Also, the workbook is protected from altering specific cells.
Ron, when protecting the workbook, deselect the Objects check box under
Protect worksheet for (Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet). That will allow
users to cut/copy and paste into and out of text boxes. (I'm using Excel
2000, btw. YMMV.)

I do not know how to delete an individual contact entry. I have duplicate
entries where the contact has changed his address. Perhaps I should have
"edited" the original, but I didn't. In any event, there are some entries I
just want to eliminate. There must be some obvious place I'm overlooking
wherein a "delete" button is hidden.

they are clicked successively. They go from on to off to on and then don't
change again; or they go off to on and don't change again. Obviously, they

I have a list box on a form that shows search results with a number of
columns. I have set the size of these columns to what I think is best
for the data and screen size.
One of my users has asked me if it is possible for him to change the
size of the list box columns whilst in form view mode to suit the data
set he is looking at. He expected to be able to dynamically change the
column sizes similar to the way you can do that in Windows Explorer.
Obviously I dont want my users to go into Design Mode and change the

I have Exchange 2003 and Blackberry Enterprise Server environment setup.
However, Exchange 2003 will stop expanding distribution list and send it to
users but I send to many individual and it will work fine. When you send to
DL, it will not bounce back with non deliver instead of eating up. I
checked eventlogs and no major/critical warnings. The only solution is
reboot the server. Exchange 2003 server is using raid scsi drives, 8 gig

I am developing an estimating spreadsheet that calculates labor hours. I have
built a separate 10 column and 6 row chart with info I want to pull into the
estimating spreadsheet. The colums are labeled as "Difficulty Factors" and
the rows are labeled as "Pipe Sizes". Each intersecting cell is a portion of
a labor hour.
The estimating sheet has 3 drop down lists. I want to build a IF AND

an inventory list each month (simialr to the Item Vlaue List). Does anyone
know how I can print one out for specific time periods like they are

the inventory for a specific date and time and the system does not store

Nor is there really any way of getting a historical inventory report from
